The Parts Sales Senior Manager is a critical member of Service Sales team. The individual in this role is expected to operate with a high degree of ownership and follow-through, managing strategic commercial initiatives, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring consistent execution. Responsibilities:

 

The responsibility of the Parts Sales Senior Manager is to generate revenue and profit margin growth by managing a team of sales representatives and sales support team members who manage sales of Vestas and non-Vestas wind turbine parts to customers located within the US and Canada.

 

The primary objective for the Parts Sales Senior Manager is to meet Vestas' sales objectives through sales management, customer engagement, proposal and quote development, and active selling. To be effective in this role, the individual will manage the following:

 

Sales Management

 

• Develop, execute, and continuously refine sales strategies based on performance data, market trends, and win loss analysis, including differentiated strategies for main components based on supplier control, competitive dynamics, and customer purchasing behavior.

 

• Establish and grow strategic customer relationships.

 

• Manage pricing strategy across consumables, minor parts and main components, ensuring alignment with contracts, market conditions, and margin objectives.

 

• Own forecasting, pipeline development, and opportunity generation.

 

• Monitor market trends, customer behavior, and competitors to inform strategy and pipeline focus.

 

• Partner cross functionally with procurement, supply chain, finance, and global pricing teams to enable competitive sourcing and effective enablement of key commercial initiatives.

 

People Management

 

• Manage and coach sales representatives and sales support personnel, with emphasis on building capabilities of team members to ensure the department can scale as demand increases.

 

• Develop sales skills and provide cross-training for all direct reports.

 

• Encourage a culture of accountability and disciplined execution by coaching structured approaches to managing commitments, tracking deliverables, and coordinating across functions.

 

• Oversee change management efforts related to increased automation of quoting and ordering processes, ensuring adoption and enabling the team to shift focus toward sales initiatives.

 

• Recruit, hire, and onboard new sales team members, as needed, to support business growth.

 

Communication and Stakeholder Management

 

• Communicate clearly and concisely with leadership, customers, and internal stakeholders, providing visibility to priorities, risks, tradeoffs, and ensuring alignment on ownership, decisions, and timelines.

 

• Build and maintain cross-functional relationships to support collaboration in a global environment.

 

• Contribute to commercial activities, including trade shows and product marketing initiatives.

 

General Business Activities

 

• Support Vestas safety policies and maintain safety standards.

 

• Improve the quality of customer service delivered to customers.

 

• Use sales data and performance metrics to support continuous improvement and ensure the organization is prepared to scale through effective systems and processes.

• Promote a sharing and learning environment in which others are developed throughout the organization.

 

Qualifications:

 

• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business, Marketing, or Engineering, or a related field.

 

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in sales management, wind turbine industry is beneficial.

 

• Familiarity with CRM software and sales analytics tools.

 

• Experience with surpassing sales goals and supporting revenue growth.

 

Competencies:

 

• Demonstrated ability to interpret complex information, ask clarifying questions, and translate input into clear actions and decisions.

 

• Experience leading complex, cross-functional sales initiatives with clear ownership and accountability.

 

• Advanced customer engagement skills, including active listening, structured problem solving, and the ability to navigate challenging conversations with professionalism.

 

• Deep or developing knowledge in technical sales related to wind turbine components, including understanding of product differences, supplier dynamics, and commercial implications.

 

• Solid commercial acumen, including pricing strategy development and margin optimization.

 

• Effective leadership and team management skills.

 

• Versatile professional who can adapt to a complex and dynamic business model

 

• Ability to communicate effectively in English

 

• Ability to interact frequently with others in a professional, courteous manner

 

• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time, primarily within the US and occasionally to international locations.
