Join Vestas and shape the future of software quality in sustainable energy.

We’re looking for a Release Manager to lead global software verification for wind turbine fleets worldwide.

Make a real impact on the energy transition—from code to turbine.

Vestas Technology & Operations > Research & Development (R&D) > PAC Delivery & Integration

Vestas Technology & Operations (VTO) is the integrated CTO and COO organization within Vestas, encompassing the full industrial value chain — from Research & Development, Procurement and Manufacturing to Supply Chain and Quality. VTO’s mission is to transform the way Vestas engineers, sources, contracts, manufactures and delivers its products to consistently meet the highest standards for quality, cost efficiency and time-to-market. The role is anchored within the Product Applications and Controls organization, which encompasses the IT, OT, data, and digital technology capabilities that shape the future technology roadmap for Vestas’ products.

Our team offers you the opportunity to join an inspiring, forward‑thinking, and agile department. Our vision is to redefine the way software is verified and released at Vestas, enabling us to strengthen our position as the global leader in sustainable energy.

We are seeking a Software Verification Specialist to lead and coordinate the software verification activities for solutions developed within the Software R&D organization. The role also includes responsibility for managing and aligning software requirements in close collaboration with the Release Management function.

You will join a global, cross‑functional team of approximately 40 professionals, including Project Managers, Release Managers, Test Managers, Verification Specialists, and DevOps Engineers. Together, the team collaborates closely to continuously mature and strengthen Vestas’ capabilities within software verification and release management.

The team is geographically distributed, with locations in Aarhus, Denmark and Porto, Portugal, offering a truly international and collaborative working environment.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for collecting, consolidating, and maintaining critical information and documentation required for software releases across the global turbine fleet. You will play a key role in ensuring that all release-related materials—such as release notes, certification documentation, and compliance artifacts—are accurate, complete, and delivered on time.

  • Drive the collection and validation of release information from development, verification, and stakeholder teams
  • Prepare and maintain high-quality release notes, certification packages, and other release documentation
  • Ensure alignment and completeness of documentation to support release approvals and compliance requirements
  • Communicate release readiness status, documentation updates, and key findings to stakeholders
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather inputs and ensure timely delivery of release artifacts
  • Continuously improve documentation and information-gathering processes through structured and data-driven approaches

Qualifications

  • A relevant educational background in a related field
  • Demonstrated experience in gathering and managing release documentation within a software development environment
  • Experience with structured data handling, KPI tracking, or reporting tools (e.g., Power BI) is considered an advantage
  • Proven ability to compile and analyze data and create clear, impactful presentations

Competencies

  • Working within large, complex organizations and supporting coordinated release processes
  • Effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to gather and validate information
  • Strong understanding of verification, and release lifecycle processes
  • Familiarity with compliance, certification, and documentation requirements in regulated environments
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
