Electrical Service Technician - Dundonnell Wind Farm

Vestas is currently recruiting for a Service Technician with electrical qualifications to work on site at the Dundonnell Wind Farm in Victoria.

 

This role will report to the Site Supervisor and will play a pivotal role in maintaining, testing and repairing mechanical and electrical equipment and monitoring daily performance to ensure continued high availability to customers.
 
Responsibilities

  • Perform the day to day servicing, calibrations and maintenance as a part of scheduled and un-scheduled service and maintenance of wind turbines
  • Installation, commissioning, inspection and maintenance of wind turbine generators and associated spare parts
  • Identify, define and isolate source of issues through logical processes and identify and evaluate possible solutions for the same
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through direct liaison with client representatives, customers and service recipients
  • Develop and maintain site-specific documentation and quality assurance information
  • Achieve, measure and report on performance indicators and site service objectives within a continuous improvement environment
  • Carry out hazard and risk assessments for all tasks as per company policy and procedures
  • Proactive focus on HSE including reporting and documenting of hazardous observations near misses and incidents

 

Qualifications

  • Electrical License “A Grade” MUST HAVE AUSTRALIAN A GRADE ELECTRICAL LICENSE - CURRENT
  • Exposure and experience to HV highly desirable
  • Experience working in an electro-mechanical environment, preferably working with WTGs
  • Experience in Maintenance of heavy machinery
  • Intermediate computer skills

 

Competencies

  • Demonstrated commitment and adherence to safety and environmental requirements
  • Any previous experience in the wind industry, commercial construction, engineering or HV electrical experience will be highly regarded
  • Ability to work at heights
  • Fit, with the ability to carry weight and climb wind turbine towers
  • Flexibility in operation and ability to work in a team and as an independent contributor
  • Self-managed, with good communication skills and strong work ethics
