This advanced Blades Factory spans 666,000 square feet and produces turbine blades for the V163-4.5 MW turbine as well as the 2 MW platform. Responsibilities:
As a Lead Specialist in Process Excellence (PEX), you will play a critical role in implementing continuous improvement and operational efficiency across our manufacturing processes. You will manage initiatives aligned with the Vestas Production System (VPS), applying Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and support a culture of excellence.
This position is ideal for an experienced change agent motivated by Lean transformation, team facilitation, and building a sustainable operational culture.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline required.
- 7+ years of Lean implementation in a manufacturing setting with 100 or more employees.
- Lean Black Belt certified; Six Sigma Black Belt.
- Accomplished experience leading and developing teams, with a focus on coaching, training, and performance management.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Capable analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, or similar).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and experience with logistics data management systems (ERP, WMS, or similar).
- Dedicated commitment to workplace safety and compliance with regulatory standards.
Competencies:
Leadership & Strategy
- Serve as a key leader within the site leadership team, providing strategic direction and operational oversight.
- Directly lead and develop a team of PEX Technicians, promoting a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align PEX strategies with factory and corporate objectives.
Continuous Improvement & Lean Implementation
- Facilitate the application of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to improve factory performance, including tools such as Value Stream Mapping, Daily Management, Process Mapping, 5S, Standard Work Instructions, and SMED.
- Support Lean conversion across the site, including TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), Lean Supply Chain practices, and shop floor Six Sigma.
- Provide Lean Six Sigma and Business Process Management (BPM) training and coaching to teams across the factory.
- Coordinate recognition programs that reward individuals and teams for process improvement efforts.
- Promote a culture of Kaizen and continuous improvement at all levels.
Process Evaluation & Strategy Development
- Evaluate existing workflows, time requirements, and cost structures to identify improvement opportunities.
- Develop and implement strategies that optimize work processes and align with the Vestas Production System.
- Apply industrial engineering and problem-solving techniques to assess and measure the impact of proposed solutions.
Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards across operations.
- Oversee inspections and maintenance of material handling equipment, coordinating timely repairs as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting, particularly related to hazardous materials handling and regulatory compliance.
