Job Title: Engineering Intern

Location(s); Windsor, CO

Salary: $25.00 / Hour

 

Provides engineering and administrative support to Project Manager (PM) in charge of a new product introduction or multiple projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Work in close collaboration with Project Manager (PM) pertaining to a (or multiple) new product introduction(s)
  • Support project planning and risk management
  • Provide project administrative service, advice, and guidance on the use of project management tools.
  • Provide a framework for the project to operate within - typically includes processes, standards, coaching/education.
  • Responsible for administering configuration management procedure and tools according to configuration management strategy.
  • Participate in and direct project management meetings together with PM.
  • Project/Tooling Engineer role:
  • Design methods and collaborate on ideas for new product introductions, specifically related to tools and equipment.
  • Determine test methods, procedures, parts, and equipment needed to implement engineering changes.
  • Troubleshoot tooling problems to identify solutions to reduce downtime and conserve costs.
  • Identify missing tooling and design or source solutions.
  • Support production line during new product introductions
  • Project Support Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that projects are run in compliance with the organization's requirements.
  • Provide guidance to project teams.
  • Build and maintain project plans.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks.
  • Identify and mitigate safety hazards related to tools and equipment.
  • Track and report overall progress.
  • Plan and schedule resources, and monitor resource utilization
  • Establish and maintain the project documentation library - maintain any register/log delegated by PM.

Requirements:

  • Engineer Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in progress

Competencies:

  • Administration and organization skills
  • Effective written and oral communication skills; able to express oneself clearly and in technical and non-technical terms.
  • Ability to interact frequently with others in a professional, courteous manner.
  • Knowledge of project specialist tools and techniques
  • Knowledge of basic engineering principles and problem-solving techniques
  • Knowledge of corporate project management standards applicable to the project
