Blade Repair Technician II
The Blade Repair Technician II completes repairs and fabrication of structural blade products. This role has successfully reached the Level 3 competency on TDR and is certified in a minimum of two repair types and is able to train employees in Repair Technician I work group.
Responsibilities
- This position is successful in the Repair Technician Program, demonstrating proficiency at all basin repairs and has completed Level 3 competency on TDR
- Perform more advanced repair functions, with minimum of two repair types. This step is qualified by a Specialist who observes and confirms knowledge, behaviors and ability to work independently
- Understanding of Epoxy and Polyester resins, wet lay-up and vacuum bag techniques
- Understanding how to handle balsa and foam core materials
- Knowledge of fiberglass reinforcement and structural repair
- Ability to safely and correctly use powered hand tools
- Quality knowledge of specification (i.e. temperature and humidity restrictions)
- Confer with engineers, production personnel, programmers or others to resolve machining, assembly or quality problems
- Clean work area, machines, tools and equipment
- Safely perform duties related to generating and storing hazardous waste in satellite accumulations areas
- Manage and complete of all offered repair coursework and training
- Work independently and can successfully read drawings, complete basic and in-process repairs accurately, and log appropriate repair documentation
- Draft work instructions in accordance with drawings
- 95% FPY of repairs
- Conduct repairs precisely, accurately and timely to include all required documentation
- Train Repair Technicians at level I
- Completion of all offered repair coursework and training
- Other duties as assigned
Education, Training, and Skills Required
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- At least 2 years of Composite repair experience
- Has met or exceeded required TDR level III, attendance and behavior requirements in the normal production process, or has previous experience in working with composites
- Strong natural ability to work in teams; high degree of adaptability & flexibility; strong desire to learn new skills & knowledge; excellent work ethic; dependability &dedication to team/company; personal desire/value to produce quality work; and ability/desire to work as a craftsman with hand tools
- Ability to read and comprehend advanced instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization
- Must pass annual Respiratory Fit Test
- Must pass required Confined Spaces Test
- Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to use tools and gauges
- Has technical skills and knowledge to understand advanced drawings and blueprints
- High aptitude for details and the ability to be self -motivated and self-driven
- 100% attendance and completion of all offered coursework and training
- Q role certification
- Travel may be required
- Flexibility for Overtime

Pay range: $32 - $37 per hour.
