Seeking a skilled Composite Repair Technician (also known as Blade Repair Tech, Repair Tech, or Blade Service Tech) to perform precision repairs on turbine blades, focusing on composite materials and structural integrity. The role requires hands-on technical expertise to assess, repair, and ensure quality standards in blade maintenance, contributing to safe, reliable operations.
Pay Based upon experience $32.00-$37.00
General Purpose
- 2 years minimum of complex composite repair experience
- Understanding of Epoxy and Polyester resins, wet lay-up and vacuum bag techniques
- Understanding how to handle balsa and foam core materials
- Knowledge of fiberglass reinforcement and structural repair
- Ability to safely and correctly use powered hand tools
- Quality knowledge of specification (i.e. temperature and humidity restrictions)
- Ability to read complex technical drawings and processes
- IT literate (email, internet, iPad)
- Ability to work well as a team and take guidance
- Operate all manufacturing equipment efficiently and safely
- Demonstrate ability to meet production standards on specific tasks within required time.
- Lift, position, and/or remove material from work areas
- Adhere to Production Worker Instructions (PWI)
Responsibilities
- Must be able to see and hear alarms, timers and follow verbal instructions
- Must be able to wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the task
- Must be able to tolerate an environment where chemicals and materials are used within OSHA guidelines
- Ability to work at a pace in accordance to a takt plan that still meets safety and quality requirements
- lift a NIOSH box weighing 30# from 20 inches to 28inches
- No required competency on TDR and a level 2 on your performance tracker ( behavioral)
- Operator is in the process of completing offered repair coursework and training Operator can successfully complete basic repairs and in process repairs accurately to include all documentation under supervision
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Completion of on-the-job training may be substituted for experience requirements
- Established work history of at least one year in preferably manufacturing
- Experience working on teams
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment
- Set a good example of personal integrity
- Ability to communicate effectively on the job
- Use measuring tools and gauges
