Regional Engineering & Technology (RE&T) NCE represents the corporate technology & operations organization Vestas Technology & Operations (VTO) in the 6+ GW p.a. regional business unit Northern & Central Europe (NCE), covering the entire business across the spectrum of Sustainable Energy Solutions with On- & Offshore wind at the core in more than 20 countries. The main responsibilities centre around technical contracting, technical value engineering, customization, and technical project execution as well as regional product market strategy, product integrity management and lifecycle engineering.

This position is anchored in the Technical Sales Management Team which is a multi-functional team of engineers owning the technical accountability for our projects during the Sales and Execution phase with a focus on the markets within the region Central Onshore.

 

Responsibilities

The (Lead) Technical Bid Engineer role is a highly diversified role that requires solid technical skills combined with a solid commercial mindset. After an intensive induction, you will be assigned to a dedicated Sub-Region within the region Central ONS.

  • Technical focal point for a dedicated team of commercial Sales Managers and their customers in a multi-functional Sales Deal Team Setup
  • Network to build relationships with the key technical stakeholders in your customers' organization
  • Guide technical negotiations as an essential member of the overall Sales Deal Team
  • Accountable for the full Vestas technical solution including providing timely responses to customer enquiries and RFQs, managing technical risks and propelling technical value optimization of wind farms end to end through sales, construction, commissioning, and operation
  • The link between the local Sales organization and Vestas R&D for general technical matters
  • Identify market requirements and trends to feedback towards the product development team and to promote Vestas products & solutions within the Central markets

 

Qualifications

  • Engineering background (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Renewable Energies or related) including 5+ years' experience in a similar position
  • Good commercial insight/interest or commercial background with a solid interest in the understanding of technical aspects
  • Prior experience in directing technical negotiations, ideally of heavy machinery, power plant equipment or similar
  • Experience in IEC or FGW standards for wind turbine design, power performance or noise testing
  • Previous experience in wind energy, product management, technical sales or industrial plant environment would be beneficial, but not essential
  • Knowledge of common practice in permitting process of wind turbines in the Austrian or German market would be beneficial

  • Highly motivated and skilled at stakeholder management (internal and external stakeholders)
  • Holistic understanding of the commercial and legal aspects of technical solutions
  • Ability to be innovative and creative with a result-oriented customer-focused mindset who can work with little supervision and with an international team
