Are you enthusiastic about quality, safety, and sustainability? In the role of Supplier Quality and Development Specialist within Vestas Global Tower team, you will steer our crucial suppliers towards optimal performance and a record of zero safety incidents. From conducting site audits to delivering supplier improvement initiatives, you’ll play a critical role in maintaining Vestas high standards while reducing costs and non-conformities.

This position is part of the Supplier Quality & Development in Vestas Global Tower team, which coordinates SQ&D activities and ensures the highest focus on quality, safety and environment when developing and delivering the category strategies while not compromising on Vestas's standards and processes. The key task is the development of key suppliers by performing site audits, supplier assessments and leading improvement tasks to enforce high supplier performance, zero safety incidents and reduce the cost of poor quality (COPQ) and number of non-conformities.

 

Responsibilities

In this role, you will deploy Vestas Quality, Safety and Environment Strategy towards external towers including concrete towers, steel plate and flange manufacturers. Further tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Facilitate supplier quality, capacity, capability, and performance topics on behalf of and in compliance with regional & global strategy
  • Development and qualification of new products acc. to APQP4Wind/PPAP
  • Manufacturing process audits
  • Secure agreement with stakeholders team in defining supplier improvement activities
  • Facilitate Supplier Performance Reviews and develop and conduct supplier development projects
  • Ensure closed-loop quality in collaboration with required stakeholders

 

Qualifications

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferred Mechanical, Materials, Metallurgy or Civil)
  • Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in the wind industry (other industries may be considered).
  • Proficient in applying APQP4Wind methodology
  • Experience with supplier management and driving improvement projects in quality, process and safety areas
  • ISO 9001/14001/45001/VDA 6.3 certifications is welcomed
  • IWE, Frosio/NACE, and NDT certification could be beneficial

 

Competencies

  • Solid in stakeholder management, representing the SQD agenda and taking ownership.
  • Should have experience in Tower Manufacturing including welding and surface treatment.
  • Desired experience in Concrete Tower Manufacturing.
  • Innovative and have good communication and collaboration skills enabling you to collaborate internally and influence suppliers
  • Professional meeting facilitator with the ability to work on all organizational levels and good project management skills
  • Highly self-motivated and proactive, with a team-oriented mindset that thrives in a cross-cultural, international, and innovative environment
  • Fluency in English
