Vestas Technology & Operations (VTO) is where new product ideas are developed, matured, improved, and tested. Within VTO, you'll find our department, Logistics, Indirect and Service NCE Region, as part of Supplier Quality & Development NCE.
At Supplier Quality & Development (SQ&D) NCE, the team is tasked with coordinating SQ&D activities while prioritizing quality, safety, and environmental standards. The team ensures that category strategies are developed and delivered in alignment with Vestas’s established standards and processes, without compromise.
A key responsibility of SQ&D NCE is the strategic and operational development of key suppliers within the region. This includes conducting audits and supplier assessments to evaluate compliance, performance, and areas for improvement.
Additionally, the team handles Quality, Safety, and Environment (QSE) improvement projects to promote higher supplier performance. By enforcing a zero-incident approach and consistently working to reduce non-conformities, SQ&D NCE contributes to a more reliable and sustainable supply chain.

Responsibilities
As a Supplier Quality & Development Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing Vestas’ Quality, Safety, and Environment (QSE) Strategy for external suppliers within the Indirect category. Your role will involve driving supplier quality, capability, and performance management in alignment with both regional and global strategies.
Your main responsibilities will include

  • Facilitate supplier assessments, performance reviews, and capability development to ensure compliance with Vestas’ quality standards
  • Implement entry strategies for new markets and onboard suppliers while ensuring adherence to Vestas’ processes and requirements
  • Collaborate with regional stakeholders to facilitate and complete supplier improvement initiatives
  • Guide and oversee QSE activities in cases of supplier non-conformance, ensuring corrective actions align with Vestas’ standards
  • Organize and conduct Supplier Business Review Meetings with cross-functional teams to assess supplier performance and ensure continuous improvement
  • Facilitate supplier development projects and localized initiatives aimed at boosting operational efficiency and quality
  • Conduct QHSE audits, prepare executive reports, and present key findings to senior management
     

Qualifications

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in supplier management, with a significant focus on quality, safety, and process improvements
  • Extensive experience in managing suppliers and handling quality, process, and safety improvement projects
  • Previous experience in the wind industry, mechanical or heavy manufacturing is required
  • Certified Auditor/Lead Auditor (ISO standards), other relevant quality and safety certifications are beneficial
     

Competencies

  • Proficiency in data analysis and a structured approach to solving complex problems
  • Project management skills are beneficial
  • A keen focus on maintaining high standards of quality and safety
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and related technical competencies
  • Ability to manage customer interactions and collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders
  • Fluency in English is required. Skilled in oral and written communication, with the ability to effectively facilitate meetings and collaborate in an international, diverse, and cross-functional environment
  • Exhibits proactivity along with problem-solving capabilities and is skilled at spotting and applying effective solutions

Additional information
The primary work location for this role is our office in Warsaw, Poland.
Up to 100 days of travel per year.
