Operating within the Vestas Northern & Central Europe business unit, we focus exclusively on selling, constructing and operating onshore wind power plants in UK and Ireland. With offices in Dublin and Warrington, Service UK and Ireland is responsible for the service and maintenance of our customers wind power plants in both markets.


Together with our colleagues throughout Vestas, we handle some of the largest operational projects, with some of the most complex customers in Europe. The Junior Customer Support Engineer will be at the forefront of taking care of the relationships with our customers and ensuring that we meet, and exceed their expectations.

The Customer Support Engineer role requires you to interact on a broad range of technical areas and interact with Engineering teams. For that reason, it is the perfect opportunity to launch an exciting career in wind energy at Vestas.

 

Responsibilities
The position of Junior Customer Support Engineer reports directly to the Team Lead, working with a team of Customer Support Engineers and Customer Managers.
As a Customer Support Engineer, you will:

  • Provide first-line customer communication, building and enhancing the customer relationship and seeking aftermarket sales. 
  • Act as a key interface for customers to coordinate technical solutions via a range of stakeholders within Vestas.
  • Work hand in hand with the Customer Managers in resolve customer issues.
  • Coordinate and communicate with all departments, encouraging a clear and consistent interaction with the field and office to organize the communication to customers around service operations.
  • Become commercially aware of the contract’s financial performance and requirements.
  • Transact business and actively seek aftermarket sales.

 

Qualifications

  • We encourage any candidates who hold degree-level qualification (Engineering subjects would be beneficial) or have a number of years experience in a technical field.
  • As a minimum you should have higher education qualifications (A levels or equivalent). The role will involve a level of technical discussion so you must be comfortable to learn further engineering aspects. You might be recently graduated with some relevant experience gained during your studies or have a 1-2 years of experience from a similar role
  • You will be comfortable in a customer-facing position, with the skills to bring solutions to the table
  • You should be structured, accurate and possess professional communications skills both written and oral. 
  • You should be thoroughly familiar with Microsoft Office package, Excel and Power Point.

Additional information
You will be based at our office in Warrington (commutable distance from Manchester and Liverpool). An alternative location can be Dublin.
