Deputy Supervisor - Scotland Central

Do you have extensive experience as a wind turbine technician or supervisor? Do you have strong leadership and coaching skills? If you're ready to plan and allocate resources for 20 specialist technicians, we want to talk with you about becoming our new Deputy Supervisor.

Region 1 UK is part of Vestas Northern Europe's business unit. Based out of our Warrington office the team consists of 5 technical area supervisors.
 

Responsibilities
We are now looking for a Deputy Supervisor role to support our Service operation in the UK. The position will report to the Area Supervisor. This will include supervising a team of specialist technicians and technical roles that support local Supervisors in completion of jobs within the planned timeframes and agreed costs.

Your primary tasks will be:

  • Support the Area Supervisor in leading a team of specialist technicians providing technical assistance to the Area Supervisor. Deputising for the Area Supervisor as required in customer meetings, plan and execution of Daily Management, technician meetings, weekend cover
  • Coordinate and develop the training of the technician team to ensure technical competency corresponds to technical demands as result of direct coaching
  • Mentor technicians remotely and ‘on the ground’
  • Support Area Supervisor in local efficiency drive, identifying improvement areas in line with Business Strategy, goals and processes. Whilst also supporting them in LEAN sustainability
  • Produce and govern site performance improvement action plans
  • Propose and recommend modern cost-effective methods where required
  • Engage at Celtic level, sharing knowledge and resource coordination

Qualifications

  • Wind turbine experience with a high level of technical competency on wind turbine systems particularly drive train/mechanical repairs and replacements
  • High degree of Safety Awareness
  • Demonstrate ability to lead meetings/lead a team
  • Proven communication skills, field / office/ customer
  • S.A.P or similar ERP system knowledge, with strong administrative skills

Additional information
Primary work location is Stirling or Dalry (Ayrshire), Scotland but this role will involve travelling around the region.
