The Main Component Exchange department is responsible for ensuring a high-quality customer experience when completing main component exchange projects for our customers, supporting service sites in executing special campaigns and internal project support within department.
The department is part of the Offshore Service organization in the Vestas NCE Region. You will become part of a team of over 500 professionals working daily to provide offshore services for our trusted customers. This includes everything from strategy work, operational improvement, Health & Safety, technical case handling to delivering the services on the wind turbines offshore.
As Deputy Site Manager you will manage daily offshore operations to ensure safe, productive, and cost efficient use of vessel time, resources, and personnel while meeting budget and productivity targets. Quality Lead within the project team. Engage with Feedback loop to Internal and External resource management to support technician development within core team. You will be involved in shift leadership, safety oversight, logistics and documentation.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate Daily Planning & Reporting: Coordinate daily operational planning with client and vessel leadership, review Daily Progress Reports, and provide structured back-briefs to the Project Site Manager
- Manage Shift Execution & Handover: Oversee shift operations, ensuring effective resource allocation, progress tracking, risk control, and clear handovers between shifts
- Support Safety Culture & Team Leadership: Conduct offshore kick offs, toolbox talks, and back to work briefings; maintain good team performance, discipline, and adherence to HSE standards
- Coordinate Operations & Logistics: Align turbine preparation and re commissioning activities with Service Site teams; plan and manage crew transfers (CTV/SOV/helicopter) and ensure reliable MCC communication
- Control Readiness, Weather & Authorisations: Assess weather forecasts, adjust operational plans, coordinate with Marine teams, and review/approve technicians’ Road to Authorisation status
- Support Forward Planning & Technical Execution: Prepare upcoming work phases by securing tools, materials, and service orders; provide technical input to resolve operational issues offshore
- Ensure Operational Alignment & Stakeholder Communication: Maintain strong communication with onshore/offshore stakeholders to ensure schedule adherence, operational clarity, and efficient execution
Qualifications
- A qualification in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering
- Experience in the Offshore WTG Service industry
- Solid knowledge of Main Component Exchange processes, methods, and practices
- Familiarity with process safety standards and relevant local legislation
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and proficiency in SAP usage with the ability to obtain and maintain required certifications (e.g. GWO, medical, WTSR)
- Driving license category B
