QSE Professional - WA/SA

As Vestas continues to grow its projects across Australia and New Zealand, an opportunity is now available for a driven and enthusiastic Quality Safety Environmental Professional. 
 

The role of the Service Safety Professional is responsible working with operational staff and operational people leaders to proactively assess potential risks associated with work methods and collaboratively identifying and implementing effective controls while ensuring compliance to the Vestas Safety Management System and associated ANZ safety management plans.

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Demonstrate Safety leadership in behaviours and supporting the operational business to understand their accountabilities and responsibilities with respect to QSE. Apply a Zero Harm mentality to all we do.
  • Support LoB managers to implement their accountabilities with respect to risk management, operational excellence in SH&E and proactive QSE leadership.
  • Maintain a safe workplace through implementing and following Vestas policies and standards.
  • Implementing and ensuring alignment of the Vestas Management systems and processes, ensuring consistency of approach and suitability to ANZ context
  • Implement the QSE strategy, policies, processes and initiatives, placing a strong emphasis on competitive advantage and continuous improvement.
  • Support with the maintaining of QSE systems and management of associated certification audits with Vestas
  • Support and implement agreed ASP QSE initiatives in the LoB ensuring their alignment to the Vestas QSE Strategy and ANZ Improvement plan
  • Experience working with different labour groups, i.e. direct company staff, to labourers, contractors, subcontractors etc.
  • Experience in developing, implementing and reviewing Quality, Safety

 

Qualifications:
 

  • Qualification in Safety, Environment or related area of study (Preferred
  • Diploma in OH&S or Cert IV in OH&S or Equivalent (Essential)

 

Competencies:

 

  • Minimum 5 years + industry experience as a safety professional 
  • A strong technical background, including knowledge of applicable legislation, acts, regulations, codes of practice and standards.
  • Understanding and intermediate user of MS Office, and database systems i.e. ERP (SAP) would be an advantage.
  • Exposure to QSE specific software programs I.e. Injury management systems.
  • Ability to display practical hands on approach to Quality, Safety and Environment issues.
  • Good interpersonal skills, including oral and written communication skills, within professional service provider environment
  • Able to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Decision making to create action and continual system improvement.
  • A strong commitment to Quality, Safety, & the Environment at all times.
  • Excellent time management and reporting skills.

Additional information:
  

  • To be in either SA or WA
  • Approx 40-60% travel will be required 
  • All potential employees will be subject to undertake a full medical assessment to be considered for this role.
