Entry Level Service Technician

Vestas are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Australian trade qualified technician to join our collaborative team at Warradarge Wind Farm.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the renewable energy industry in a very stable role with the opportunity to learn to maintain multiple platforms and even travel to work with other teams across the country if it interests you. The service operations team support each other with great knowledge sharing with a true attitude of helping you grow with many opportunites for further training with a global company.
The department is a small team environment and the technicians report to the shift supervisor are responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the wind turbines in accordance with the Service contract.
Support is provided by an administrator and a planner with KPI's given by the Area Service Manager and Site Manager.
To be successful in this role you must hold a recognised Australian trade qualification. You will also be required to relocate to the area or already reside in the vicinity of Jurien Bay Western Australia.
Responsibilities
- Required to Undertake scheduled service and reactive maintenance on an as-required basis
- Respond and attend site outside normal working hours to undertake reactive maintenance on a rostered on-call basis
- Maintain all company vehicles and plant and equipment in good clean condition
- Undertake operations and maintenance within the limits of training and authorization including operation of HV and LV
- Ensuring that each task is undertaken in a manner that ensures the safety of personnel, protects the environment and work methods are followed at all times
- Undertake all required site inductions and job training
- Undertake the requirements of the SMA (Service Maintenance Agreement)
- Complying with the duty of care assigned under WHS legislation and demonstrate commitment to accident prevention
- Observing all work instructions, procedures, safety codes of practice, employer WHS and environmental requirements and statutory rules and regulations
- Wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment as required
- Participate in safety, toolbox or other meetings where required
- All other duties within competence, skill, qualifications and experience as directed
Qualifications
- Mechanical or Electrical trade certificate
- Drivers License is essential
Competencies
- Required PC literate, preferably MS Office
- Ability to learn new skills
- Flexible for working conditions that may change unexpectedly
- Proficiency with managing phone apps for work order control
- Comfortable working at heights
- HV experience advantageous
- Previous experience with permit to work systems and HSE documentation
