WTG Support Engineer

Regional Support NCE > WTG Engineering & Support > NCE, WTG, E&S, NCE, (DK)
WTG Engineering & Support NCE (DK) is a sub department of WTG Engineering & Support NCE, which regionally supports the Service & Construction departments, and local Sales with technical knowledge and acting as the link between R&D and these local business units. 


WTG Engineering & Support NCE (DK) consists of 14 people all located in Videbæk, Denmark. The main areas of support are Electrical (generator, converter, control systems), Software and Power Performance and Mechanical (gearboxes, yaw, hydraulic, lubricants).


Responsibilities
The main tasks for the department include: Providing direct support to service technicians in troubleshooting and repair, evaluating damage on main components, remote software upload, creating VGAs (guides to technicians), providing answers to technical questions internal and external, and taking part in customer meetings and seminars.


Reporting to the Manager for WTG Engineering & Support NCE (DK) you will be part of a high experience dedicated team and take leadership for implementing Vestas strategy, supporting the Service and Construction organisations and local business units with technical knowledge, secure customer focus and safety.


The key responsibilities include:

  • Be the link between WTG Engineering & Support NCE (DK) and Technology R&D
  • Providing direct support to service technicians in troubleshooting and repair related jobs with focus on turbine performance
  • Provide timely and correct responses and support to the Service and Construction organisations
  • Handling requests in tickets and answering emails
  • Create guides (VGAs) for Service technicians
  • Prepare technical customer reports and presenting technical matters at customer meetings
  • Ensure technical knowledge is shared within the team

Qualifications

A relevant technical education, such as:

  • Electrical Engineer
  • Mechanical Engineer
  • Marine Engineer
  • or a shorter electrical or mechanical education + long term experience from the wind industry
  • 5 years’+ experience from the wind industry is highly preferred

Competencies

  • Strong communication skills in English, both spoken and written 
  • Must be structured, self-driven, takes initiative and ownership
  • Team-player orientated, able to excel as part of a global team
  • Ability and willingness to travel within NCE region
  • Customer oriented and the ability to understand the business value seen from a service and customer perspective
  • Building network and relationship, both internal and external
  • Able to handle multiple simultaneous tasks

Additional information
10-15 days travel per year will be required.
