Region NCE > SBU NCE Service > Troubleshooting North & West
Troubleshooters North West is a sub department of Technical Support NCE, which support regionally the Service and Construction business with technical knowledge and act as the link between R&D and local business units.
Main tasks for the department include providing advanced remote troubleshooting and planning on stopped turbines, direct support to service technicians in the field, software focus including remote upload, turbine performance, creating/updating VGAs (guides to technicians), and providing answers to technical questions both internal and external to customers.
As a part of Technical Support NCE, you will be included in a highly experienced and dedicated team, taking leadership for implementing Vestas's strategy, focusing on customers and safety, combined with providing technical knowledge to the Service and Construction organizations and local business units.

 

Responsibilities

  • Handling stopped turbines on daily basis in a shift plan
  • Technical planning: identifying the correct paperwork/documentation, identifying the correct components needed to carry out the job, identifying the correct tooling for the job
  • Supporting technicians during troubleshooting. Participate in stopped turbine calls
  • On-site support in troubleshooting of difficult-to-solve/first-of-its-kind issues. Being the link between Troubleshooters North West and 2nd/3rd level support
  • Supporting on technical customer questions and reports
  • Creating, updating, and maintaining guides (VGAs) for Service Technician
  • Providing timely responses and supporting our Service stakeholders

 

Qualifications

  • Relevant technical education, such as: Electrical, Mechanical or Marine Engineering
  • Experience from the wind industry 
  • Several years in the field of troubleshooting or other technical experience
  • Very good communication skills in English, both oral and in writing 

 

Competencies

  • Professional PC skills - SAP, Microsoft office suite
  • Good knowledge of WTG control systems (VOB, Toolkit, VTM, etc.)
  • Ability to participate effectively as part of a Service North West team
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks
  • Proven ability to work both with limited supervision and in teams
  • Pragmatic problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and a solid commitment to quality

Additional information
Work location: this position will be based either in the regional head office, or remotely at a local Vestas hub, flexible to the candidate's current location. 
This position requires approximately 30 days of travel yearly.
