The Global Repair & Lifecycle department at Vestas Wind Systems plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and effective repair of wind turbine component sustainable energy solutions, this department focuses on maintaining the reliability and performance of wind turbines through timely and accurate repairs. The team offers an opportunity to contribute to the renewable energy sector and work on exciting projects that support the sustainability goals of Vestas.
We are seeking a Main Components Repair Specialist to join our team at Vestas, a global leader in sustainable energy solutions. This is a professional with a keen focus for main components for wind turbine gearboxes and a willingness to thrive in a complex and innovative environment.

 

Responsibilities

  • Drive and own repair activities for main wind turbine components, mainly Gearboxes, in close collaboration with our repair partners (external vendors)
  • Act as the primary point of contact between repair teams, engineering, and operations
  • Your primary area will be linked to Gearboxes but also extending into other main components like Generators or Main Bearing Arrangements
  • Ensure repair processes comply with safety standards, quality requirements, and timelines
  • Drive and own the reporting on repair progress, KPIs, and cost efficiency
  • Drive changes and develop the repair strategy with our organization. Implement continuous improvement initiatives together with our repair vendors
  • Collaborate with suppliers and service providers to optimize repair strategies


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, engineering, or a related field. We also welcome if you have an alternative background
  • Experience in wind turbine components, repair coordination and supply chain management
  • Familiarity with Vestas platforms and its component technologies and repair methodologies
  • Knowledge of industry standards and safety regulations
  • Proficiency in using SAP and MS Office tools
  • Drivers license B

  • Proficient organizational and project management skills
  • Proficient in communicating and effectively managing interactions with stakeholders
  • Ability to process information thoroughly while maintaining a focus on details
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions when facing tight deadlines
  • An initiative-driven mindset towards resolving issues and enhancing processes
  • Very good English (spoken and written); additional languages are beneficial
