The QSE department is focused on making the world a better place today and protecting it for future generations. For this purpose, we have Sustainability professionals working for Vestas in the areas of Safety, Environment, Corporate Social Responsibility and Security throughout the world.
We are looking for an HSE Field Support to primarily support our service organisation in Finland and partially in Estonia. The location of the position is in Vaasa. The HSE Field Support will be reporting to the Team Lead for HSE Nordic. 
The HSE Field Support with their closest colleague, also located in Vaasa, will be responsible for supporting our service organisation in meeting their customer, legislative and internally required demands on HSE in Finland and Estonia. Communication, alignment and create awareness on safety are lead words for the role. The position is office based but also involves field activities, visiting our sites and warehouses nationwide. The role involves going up in the turbines.



  • Participates in customer meetings in regards of HSE issues. Provides expertise and support in audits and HSE related questions from customer
  • Implementation of local legal requirements and strategies. Creates HSE documentation for Finnish service sites
  • Follow ups on subcontractors, including doing work risk assessments. Provides expertise and support in incident investigations, as well as root cause analysis
  • Guidance in coordination of activities with subcontractors, handling of wastes and chemicals, emergency response, implementation of procedures and standards
  • Consolidates monthly reporting to stakeholders and other administrating tasks. Alignment of the HSE organisation and the Service organisation



  • Educational or work background in a relevant field, such as Health and Safety, Risk Management or Engineering
  • In-depth knowledge of sustainability standards and concepts, processes, procedures and legal requirements regarding HSE
  • Knowledge in hazard jobsite assessment/analysis/solution, risk assessments, incident investigation and root cause analysis
  • Knowledge in development/implementation of processes and procedures, including comprehensive HSE Plans, as well as conducting inspections and audits
  • Experience in creating HSE documentation
  • Experience in working with customers
  • High proficiency in Finnish and English



  • A natural health and safety approach and behaviour related focus
  • Solid social and collaboration skills. You need the ability to work with a variety of people in all parts of the organisation and the ability to listen but also stand your ground when needed
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Likes to work independently. You will be collaborating with many different stakeholders, but the day-to-day work will be carried out independently
  • Ability to extract and examine data
  • A service minded approach

Additional information
Location: You will be based in our office in Vaasa, Finland.
This position requires field activities so you will be traveling to our sites and warehouses nationwide. Approximately 50% of all workdays will be field activities.
