Vestas North & Western Europe is a sales business unit covering Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark, England, Scotland, and Ireland. We are responsible for the sales, installation, and service of wind farms throughout these regions. The Service department is responsible for service and maintenance of the wind farms within North and Western Europe. You will have the opportunity to join our Special Task team, in an exciting industry and in a team of highly motivated employees. To meet the growth in Wind Turbines all over our region, we want to meet the future demand in our area of responsibility by onboarding additional Blade Technicians in our Special Task department.

 

As a Blade Technician you will be part of a team that travels to different wind farms. The work rotation for this role is 16 days of work and 12 days off work. 

 

Responsibilities
Special Task is responsible for the latest technology and the new initiatives in service to build and share the competence within Service. We have in addition to our regular tasks in the North & Western Region, we also have the responsibility to support our Special Task colleagues elsewhere in the region.

 

In this position you will be a part of our highly skilled Special Task Fiber team, where you will have an important role in delivering services and solutions that fulfils our customers' expectations, while always keeping high standards for safety, work ethics and cost optimisation.

Your primarily tasks will be: 

  • Work with repair of wind turbine blades, up tower and on the ground.
  • Lead teams in the field to ensure the tasks are completed safely and efficiently
  • Ensure that Vestas procedures and instructions are followed, especially in relation to safety rules and policies
  • Continuously give input and ideas to improvements on technical documentation, work instructions and certification processes
  • Working to the highest safety and environmental standards whilst ensuring that targets are met. 

 

Qualifications

  • High level of safety awareness
  • Qualified fiberglass and/or carbon work experience
  • Solid experience with blade repairs on ground and "up-tower".
  • Fluency in English, good communication skills.
  • Valid driving license
  • Valid passport
  • The ability to work at height and in adverse weather conditions.

  • Independent and resourceful in order to solve issues even when no support is available.
  • Ability to lead a work party to complete designated task.
  • Flexible towards changing work schedules and rotations to meet planning demands.
  • Good physical condition and ability to handle heavy lifts and working from heights by platform or rope access.

Additional information
Location: This is a travelling position. The team is working on a rotating travelling schedule, and the work rotation for this role is 16 days of work and 12 days off work. The work will start from the warehouse in Vaasa.
