Vestas Asia Pacific & China provides both sales and service of wind power plants, and Vestas Japan service is currently under directorship in charge of Japan, Thailand, Vietnam (will cover more in the future).  

 

In the Service Department, our focus is to provide our clients with high quality and best possible production of their wind power plants. With our long standing excellent track record and service experience globally, we work to ensure that we manage our clients' plants effectively to get the most out of each turbines while upholding to our commitment to safety standards. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • In coordination with other assigned staff, ensure that Vestas’ obligations are fully filled in accordance with customer's AMS (Asset Management Support) contract. This provision includes among others OJT training, engineering and related technical support, reporting, assessment and customer feedback on site performance
  • As a field trainer, the Site Supervisor will assess Vestas’ service technicians current skill sets and suggest to the Service Operations management a training plan. Agree and execute the training plan to improve and maintain the performance of our staff at the required level.
  • As Site Supervisor, you will be responsible to engage in the operation and maintenance of Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs) and the supervision and coordination of one or more wind farms sites:
  • Daily site reporting to the Service Manager
  • Management of general daily on-site issues, reporting and site work deliverables
  • Planning and preparation of site work rosters and schedules; managing and updating these in SAP
  • Management of and co-ordination with on-site personnel (Service Technicians) to ensure all work is performed timely, efficiently, and safely
  • Liaison and co-ordination with on-site employer representatives and Subcontractors
  • Present the Site Induction to all Vestas on-site personnel, subcontractors and visitors
  • Ensuring Quality, OH&S and Environmental requirements (including reporting and record keeping) for the site are being maintained and complied with by onsite personnel and Subcontractors 
  • Attending site meetings with client
  • Conduct daily toolbox meetings and daily work team briefings, manage daily task management board
  • Planning and supporting Service Operations’ management with the design of professional development programme destined to Japan-based service technicians. This will include skills specific and on the job training.
  • Review and approve time sheets, expense reports, leave requests, overtime requests and travel requests

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering preferable.
  • Experience in supervising, leading team members for planning and management of a site
  • Experience in maintenance operations, leading as example in 5S and Lean activities preferable
  • Service and people management experience from the wind industry is strongly preferred

 

Competencies:

  • Strong people management, project management and coordination skills
  • English language: at least business-level fluency (speaking, reading, writing)
  • Capacity of simple conversation in Japanese language with customer is a plus.
  • Supervisory skills in the mechanical, electrical and electronics domain are preferred 
  • Possess a valid driving license in Japan
