Responsibilities

As Sales Director, you will be responsible for managing the full sales cycle—from opportunity identification to contract closure—on large-scale wind energy projects in Japan. Your scope includes:

  • Strategic Sales Leadership: Define and execute sales strategies aligned with regional growth targets.
  • Customer Engagement: Manage customer interactions throughout the sales process, supported by technical and commercial teams.
  • Bid & Negotiation Management: Oversee tender reviews, bid development, and TSA negotiations, ensuring alignment with internal stakeholders.
  • Contractual Excellence: Manage commercial and contractual negotiations, including risk assessment and compliance with internal processes.
  • Cross-functional Coordination: Lead multi-disciplinary teams across engineering, legal, finance, and supply chain to deliver effective proposals.
  • Commercial Ownership: Manage the full negotiation cycle—from NDA to contract signature—and ensure customer segmentation and relationship management.
  • Team Leadership: Provide leadership and mentorship to the local sales team, creating a culture.

 

Qualifications

We are seeking a seasoned professional with:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business Administration (or Master's degree).
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in sales, project management, or commercial roles within wind energy, offshore oil & gas (EPCI), infrastructure, or power generation.
  • Extensive experience in negotiating large, complex contracts and understanding commercial implications.
  • Familiarity with FIDIC Yellow Book and long-cycle sales processes.
  • Advanced business acumen and fluency in English and Japanese.
