Akita Noshiro Project is the first commercial scale offshore wind farm in Japan.
Being a respected manufacturer, seller, installer and service provider of wind turbines, Vestas has large fleets of offshore turbines. The Vestas Service Department is a professional service business unit currently servicing Offshore and Onshore wind farms.
In the Service Department, our focus is to provide our clients with high quality and best possible production of their wind power plants. With our long-standing great proven history and service experience globally, we work to ensure that we supervise our customers' wind farm effectively to get the most out of each turbine while upholding to our commitment to safety standards.



•    As Site Supervisor, you will plan the daily operations, onshore at the service site and at the offshore wind farm

•    Lead a team of Service Technicians to service and maintain the wind farm, ensuring all work is performed timely, efficiently, and safely

•    Be the first line of technical support, providing immediate remote troubleshooting of wind turbines and technical support to the Service Technicians. And escalating in timely manner any issue requiring main office assistance

•    Complying to Japanese health, safety and environmental legislation

•    Compliance to Vestas HSE management system (including reporting and record keeping)

•    General support to the Service Manager

•    Have insight in the site financials and plan work according to budget

•    Liaison and co-ordination with on-site employer representatives and Subcontractors

•    Attending site meetings with customers

•    Sporadic offshore trips are expected, for operational support and safety walks



•    Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering

•    Great people management skills and able to motivate and coach a team

•    Service and people management experience in the following industries are preferred: wind industry, heavy machinery industry, construction, rotating machinery, chemical refinery, petroleum, shipyard/ship repair, marine industry

•    Safety-minded, motivated to meet the business needs and have good problem-solving skills

•    Possess a valid driving license in Japan



•    Reliable and able to keep the overview even in hectic and busy periods, switching between tasks easily when required

•    Native Japanese fluency and business English competencies (speaking, reading, writing)

•    Experience in maintenance operations, directing as example in 5S and LEAN activities

•    Have good IT skills and are familiar with MS Office and SAP

•    Willingness to travel to other sites when required
