Describe the Department
Supply Chain Operations is part of Vestas' growing and dynamic Service Business Unit. The department runs our warehouse operations, the backbone of our supply chain, in our Mediterranean (MED) sales business unit. Our MED Warehousing & Operations team supports the business by securing timely availability and reliability on delivery of spares, main components, and tools. We are now looking for a Warehouse Supervisor to be mainly in charge of the operations in Italy and provide support to a different region if needed.

 

Responsibilities
As a Supervisor for Warehousing your main responsibility will be to coordinate the warehouses covering Italy. You will operate our inventory and secure the supply chain performance and flow in the warehouses currently operating in the region, both Vestas owned and 3rd party owned if relevant. Other responsibilities will be to:

  • Ensure that the warehouse is effective, productive and lean
  • Ensure a safe warehouse for all employees
  • Supervise your direct reports and support them in building high performing teams
  • Support the region's growth and warehouse footprint changes
  • Coordinate and support strategic and operational improvement projects
  • Collaborate and support services from third party suppliers to guarantee service level agreements and compliance of regulations procedures

 

Qualifications

  • University Degree (Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management or similar)
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience from a leading role within warehousing, logistics or supply chain activities
  • Fluency in English, both verbally and in writing

 

Competencies

  • Deep knowledge of warehousing management and service operation with the objective to keep high level of warehousing activities minimizing service costs to guarantee agreed levels of service, strictly cooperating with Service Operation Supervisor to guarantee coordination of the resources and control of the tools and parts for the service activities
  • Deep knowledge of safety procedures related to warehousing and operations, from awareness to auditing process, to guarantee service level agreements and compliance of regulations procedures
  • Solid and proven leadership and communication skills
  • Analytical skills, good overview and the ability to coordinate optimization and changes (e.g. data modelling)
  • Solid IT capabilities and knowledge of Supply Chain Planning and ERP systems
  • Solid communication skills
  • Experience from working cross borders and in a matrix organization
  • A flexible approach to your work and the ability to handle many tasks at the same time in a progressive environment
