Welcome to our Technical Project Support

You will be part of our Technical Project Support team in Offshore Construction which comprises a team of highly motivated colleagues, supporting project execution of offshore wind turbines across the globe, with our focus being on the Asia Pacific region.

In addition to project execution, our team also supports the rest of Vestas' value chain with our knowledge of construction projects and consequently, many of our tasks also require cross-organisational collaboration.

 

Responsibilities

Together with the project team, your primary responsibility will be to ensure that the quality of our products meets the contractual agreements made with our customers while at the same time adhering to our internal Vestas processes. You will be involved in the project from contract negotiations to final implementation and handover to Service.

 

You will be the single point of contact for the customer on all quality-related issues, and you will be responsible for ensuring our customer's confidence in the product.

 

You will be responsible for effective Quality Management (Quality Assurance and Quality Control) throughout the whole project by implementing quality risks and opportunities, by ensuring that all quality-related deliverables are ready on time and adhering to agreed standards, as outlined in Quality Control Plans, ITAP and any other relevant documents.

 

You will also be sharing relevant experience and Lessons Learned with your internal and external stakeholders and will initiate improvement initiatives and propose new and more efficient methods of working.

 

Your tasks will include:

  • Ensuring the right Project Quality Management setup in our construction projects by contributing to contract negotiations and tender reviews;

  • Ensuring that the agreed Project Quality Management is properly implemented i.e., that contractually required quality plans are in place and followed at the highest possible level of quality;

  • Ensuring that all quality-related documentation is in place and delivered according to agreed deadlines;

  • Facilitation of a continuous follow-up on project quality incl. monitoring of data;

  • Ensuring relevant level of communication with the main stakeholders regarding key quality measures and quality status;

  • Communication and collaboration with the customers on quality issues;

  • Management of project quality resources;

  • Providing advice and support to the project team in relation to quality matters, audits and inspections;

  • Being the Quality Ambassador to all levels in the organisation;

  • Contribution to or accelerating improvements of processes, tools and systems used in implementation of strategic projects;

  • Support in training of internal quality functions.

 

Qualifications

We expect that you have an engineering or technical background, for example from the wind industry or other mechanical/electrical industry combined with project management skills. You have a high level of safety and quality awareness, and you have experience working with quality and quality methodologies tools. Furthermore, you are quality and result oriented and you bring tasks to their closure. We expect you to have good planning skills and the ability to prioritise tasks in a busy, changing environment.

 

Competencies

  • Hold a relevant education (engineering or technical background combined with project management training)

  • Have good knowledge of quality methodologies tools as well as good understanding of ISO14001, ISO45001 and ISO9001 as well as ISO9001 auditor training

  • Have experience in non-conformance handling

  • Have knowledge of tender and contract work (FIDIC/Yellow book)

  • Have experience in stakeholder management and have good communication and English skills

  • Have good methodical skills and pay attention to details while still maintaining the high-level overview

  • Are able to work effectively in a team environment where work requires collaboration and interdependence on others, often in an intercultural context
