The position is a director-level role reporting directly to the APAC Offshore Finance Director and directing an agile team of project controllers. APAC is one of the important Sales Business Units of Vestas. Along with developing market trends, the offshore business takes a significant role within the Vestas business stream. The offshore market in APAC is mainly in Taiwan and Japan with extension to Korea soon.

 

Responsibilities

  • Maintain monthly closing for offshore projects, P&L, balance sheet ownership and analysis, actual performance vs. forecast, budget, root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Ensure financial controllership of the business in coordination with Corporate Guidelines as well as external/internal regulations.
  • Ensure mandated profit margins (above EBIT) are well controlled and secured with deep dive analysis on deviations and mitigation planning.
  • Deep diving into drivers contributing to strong business performance and solution- finding for poor performing areas.
  • Identify Risks and Opportunities for cost leakages, additional revenue gains and cash in/out flows on projects.
  • Coordinate and set up business (project level) cost structures, define and implement cost plans, monitor timely forecasts to secure mandated margins.
  • Guide a small agile team consisting of Project Controllers for TW, JP and soon-to-be KR construction projects.
  • Coordinate and support business stakeholders, reporting manager, shared service center, group controllers and group functions within RACI and matrix frameworks.
  • Provide financial guidance/advisory and sparring to the business.
  • Review existing business forecasts, OPEX and construction costs at a granular level.
  • Ensure controlling for customer contractual obligations (i.e. construction timelines and milestone payments).
  • Be prepared to travel to various project sites within the APAC sub-region as appropriate.

 

Qualifications

  • Required: 12+ years of experience in key finance or accounting function such as controlling, auditing, FP&A or FBP in a multinational company. 5+ years' experience managing direct reports.
  • Required: Experience with Group (HQ) reporting (bottom-up and top-down forecasts, KPI-setting, etc.)
  • Required: Experience in project-based management either in a construction or investment proposal capacity.
  • Required: SAP, SAC, BI and advanced Excel knowledge and experience.
  • Required: Bachelor or Master's degree in accounting/finance or equivalent professional licenses/experience.
  • Plus: Wind industry, especially offshore.
  • Plus: Strong familiarity with IFRS and internal reporting structures (i.e. Profit and Cost Centers, Entity Codes).
  • Plus: Familiarity working within a matrix hierarchy.
  • Plus: Clear understanding of value chain and value flows of projects.
  • Plus: Knowledge of applicable tax laws and regulations in TW, JP and KR.
