Offshore Commissioning site & Project Management team, strengthen our vision and growth plan we are looking for the next Offshore Commissioning Project Manager (CPM). This is a role encompassing all aspects of Commissioning Project Management with a key responsibility and accountability for health and well being, safety & environment compliance, programme delivery, commercial cost & control incl. a solid quality management across the scope of commissioning.

 

Responsibilities

  • Championing health, well-being, environmental safety, with a robust understanding of construction regulations, advocating for a safety-first culture on-site
  • Possessing financial expertise in budgeting, cost awareness, and purchase order management. Cultivating a culture of continuous cost improvement to enhance contribution margins
  • Engage in negotiating internal priorities and responsibly collaborating with support functions and departments to ensure a unified system-based project management approach
  • Demonstrate leadership and engagement, ensuring continuous improvement and maintaining professional quality through effective collaboration with colleagues, suppliers, customers, and stakeholders
  • Maintain a motivational demeanour, inspiring your team by cultivating a collaborative project management culture, while remaining optimistic and encouraging even in complex circumstances
  • Champion the Vestas values of Simplicity, Collaboration, Accountability and Commitment ensuring genuine communication skills with all stakeholders and project management team
  • Support continuous growth and development of the Commissioning Management by supporting new initiatives and embracing change inwardly to the department and outwardly to our stakeholders

 

Qualifications

  • Experienced in Commissioning with a comprehensive grasp of mechanical, electrical, and marine engineering across various sectors, primarily offshore renewables but open to all industries
  • Previous experience overseeing medium to large-scale projects as a project/site manager, coordinating cross-functional and cross-cultural teams, with experience in troubleshooting and problem-solving environments
  • Possess project management expertise (e.g., IPMA, PMI, PMBOK) with practical knowledge and experience in stage gate model processes
  • Demonstrated good communication skills and experience in engaging with diverse stakeholders across various levels
  • Familiarity with interpreting diverse HSE legislation at local and international levels, ensuring adherence to legal and contractual requirements across standards, norms, codes of practice, and guidance
  • Extensive expertise in hazardous energy control standards and safe work system principles, specifically in alignment with EN50110-1&2, the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, and Wind Turbine Safety Rules (WTSR)
  • Proficient in essential PC skills, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Basic understanding of Primavera or MS Project and familiarity with SAP is advantageous
  • Fluent in English

  • Capable of maintaining positive customer relationships and skilled in negotiation to achieve win-win outcomes
  • Understanding and respect for the maritime environment, including coastguard operations, shipping, and seafaring
  • Proficiency in interpreting marine forecasts and understanding wind over tide principles
  • Familiarity with power generation terminology and language
  • Solid Communication and Stakeholder Management skills, able to map stakeholders and establish priorities impactful on commissioning completed project.
