Vestas Factory

Develop, implement and maintain a robust commissioning framework across people functions, to deliver and continuously improve the quality and cost effectiveness of services. Provide commissioning expertise and coordinates commissioning resources for the development of commissioning related deliverables, including participation in constructability, operability activities and engineering design reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews contractual documentation.
  • Reviews engineering documents to ensure that the commissioning & startup requirements are accounted for in the design.
  • Prepares and keeps up to date the pre-commissioning and commissioning execution plans (including the schedule and the mobilization of personnel and equipment).
  • Electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic work on WTG's.
  • On-site supervision of new and less experienced supervisors and technicians.
  • Implement WTG completion and start-ups.
  • Troubleshoot, operate, and maintain WTG's.
  • Identify, register, and handle deviations.
  • Maintenance of WTG's and equipment.
  • Ensure a safe work environment by acting in compliance with Vestas' HSE requirements.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Currently working in Japan
  • Experience in offshore industry projects site construction, with multinational team and subcontractor workforce.
  • Experience in design, commissioning and service of power conversion systems.
  • Experience on tooling, suppliers, quality tool management.
  • Knowledge of operation of WTG systems such as Pitch system, Yaw system, cooling circuits, elevator, hydraulic systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Self-motivated, highly organized, and detail oriented.
  • Capable of handling multiple tasks or assignments simultaneously and efficiently without direct supervision.
  • Ability to organize and coordinate cross functional teams required to work together during a project's start-up, testing and commissioning phase.
  • Ability to establish and leverage relationships with key stakeholders to proactively initiate requests for support from targeted internal and external subject matter experts needed to address plant startup and commissioning requirements.
  • Frequent travel required (dependent upon project cycles and offshore rotation)
  • Understanding of technical documentations. Basic troubleshooting, failure identification and replacement of simple components including basic settings and configurations
  • Understanding of technical documentations related to Safety and Protection System
  • Basic troubleshooting and failure identification of Safety and Protection System
  • Replacement of simple components including basic settings and configurations of Safety and Protection System
  • Understanding of technical documentations related to High Voltage Systems (Switch Gear, Transformer, Isolation relays)
  • Basic troubleshooting and failure identification of High Voltage Systems
  • Replacement of simple components including basic settings and configurations of High Voltage Systems
  • Understanding of technical documentations related to main component Systems (Gearbox, Generator, Hydraulic Station, Cooling Systems, Lubrication Systems, etc)
  • Basic troubleshooting and failure identification of Main Component Systems
  • Replacement of simple components including basic settings and configurations of Main Component Systems
  • Understanding of technical documentations related to Hydraulic Systems (Hydraulic Pump and Pitch Cylinder)
  • Basic troubleshooting and failure identification of Hydraulic Systems
  • Replacement of simple components including basic settings and configurations of Hydraulic Systems
  • Understanding of technical documentations related to Electrical System (Internal Power Supply Systems, Transformer, Circuit Breaker, etc.)
  • Basic troubleshooting and failure identification of Electrical System
  • Replacement of simple components including basic settings and configurations of Electrical System
  • Understanding of technical documentations related to software and basic knowledge of HMI use
  • Basic troubleshooting and failure identification via software
  • Basic settings and configurations of software
  • Understanding of technical documentations related to turbine functions (Rotor Lock, Turner Gear Operations, Service Lift, Davit Crane, HMF and PCM Crane)
  • Basic troubleshooting and failure identification of turbine functions
  • Understanding of technical documentations related to tools and equipment (Lifting Equipment, Torque Tools, Commissioning Tool Kits)
  • Basic knowledge and use of troubleshooting and failure identification of tools and equipment.
  • Replacement of simple components including basic settings and configurations of tools and equipment

  • Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or Electro Technical Officer (ETO - STCW III/6) or Engineering Officer (STCW III/2 OR STCW III/3)
  • Minimum 5 years Engineering experience or other related field on offshore industry including a minimum 3 years of experience in power electrical system.
  • Proficiency in English (fluent - speaking and writing)
