Vestas Factory

Pre-assembly of offshore wind turbines aims to optimize the use of installation vessels reducing the number of lifts needed in offshore conditions and ensure the assets mechanical completion is achieved in a controlled environment. Pre-assembly of offshore wind turbines consists of mounting several towers sections at a quayside to be ready for nacelle installation, perform nacelle pre-commissioning and load-out the components to the offshore installation vessels.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure team to prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule (load, pack, wrap, label, ship)
  • Overseeing receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations.
  • Implementing operational policies and procedures.
  • Implementing and overseeing security operations.
  • Ensuring effective and safe use of warehouse equipment.
  • Ensuring the safety of staff.
  • Motivating and disciplining staff.
  • Maintaining documentation and keeping accurate records of warehouse activities.
  • Maintaining awareness and knowledge of the condition and location of fleet vehicles.
  • Assisting with deliveries where required.
  • Ensure and maintain inventory controls and keep quality standards high for audits
  • Manage and ensure tracking equipment preservation metrics and schedule to ensure site resource planning and allocation. Daily work activity is planned weeks/months in advance while conducting day-to-day maintenance & preservation work.
  • Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization is necessary.
  • Report any discrepancies
  • Communicate and cooperate with coworkers and teams well Site Manager for pre-assembly, offshore construction and offshore commissioning of wind power turbines
  • Secure the Operation and maintenance of warehouse vehicles and equipment
  • Ensure quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Supervise of Maintenance and Preservation tasks such as the following: inspect interior/exterior components are clean, dry, and corrosion free; coat exposed un-painted machined surface with corrosion inhibitor; install, re-install, or replace protective covers; manually rotate shafts; fasten and securely place material in wooden crate(s) for mechanical protection during storage and shipment; ensure certain electronics are stored with an adequate amount of desiccant to prevent moisture; material such as detectors or circuit breakers are housed in climate-controlled storage and properly packaged with bubble wrap, as necessary.
  • Perform work in a safe manner and promote safe activities; exercise stop work authority if unsafe conditions exist
  • Recognize issues or waste and proactively recommend solutions to drive optimization and participate in problem solving events.

 

Qualifications

  • Japan Licensed Managing Engineer 監理技術者
  • And any of the below qualifications:
  • Japan 1st class Electric Construction Management Engineer (1級電気工事施工管理技士)
  • Japan Professional Engineer of General Supervision of Construction (技術士、建設総合監理 ( 建設) 
  • Japan Professional Engineer of Comprehensive Construction Technical Supervision (steel structure and concrete structure) (技術士、建設総合技術監理(鋼構造及びコンクリート構造)  
  • Japan Professional Engineer of Comprehensive Electrical and Electronic Technology (技術士、電気電子・総合技術監理)
  • Additionally, Managing Engineer needs to take 1-day training course to get a certificate.

Additional information

Primary work location: Hibikinada (Fukuoka prefecure). 5 days a week.
