Vestas' Global Service business was spun out as a separate business unit in 2014 due to the growing commercial and strategic significance of the Service business. With our corporate strategy "Profitable Growth for Vestas" we have communicated specific, innovative growth targets for Service in the coming three years. To achieve such targets while keeping our cost base steady requires a fundamental shift in how we operate - commercially as well as operationally. 
The Global Service Lean team is responsible for developing further our Service Business' continuous improvement and execution growth culture. We develop the process for Strategy Deployment, work on establishing global concepts, and implement breakthrough improvements based on global methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma.

Responsibilities:
In this role, there would be a need to report to the Head of Service Lean NCE and it is necessary to visit locations/sites in different geographical regions within Northern and Central Europe and work constantly on increasing the Operational maturity level of the Service business.
While keeping high Safety and Quality standards, it is obligatory to be engaged with Service Management as well as with shopfloor, and visit sites of the countries and regions that are supported to implement our Service Lean roadmap and increase Lean maturity and operational performance. For the right candidate, it will even be an opportunity to prove leadership skills by taking a coaching role for other Lean team members.
The tasks that would be performed at this position in the region will include:

  • Secure Lean tools deployment and assess training needs,
  • Plan and facilitate Kaizen events to make improvements,
  • Transfer findings into projects and initiatives to reduce operational costs,
  • Assure the buy-in of stakeholders and establish a continuous improvement culture
  • Establish and share Lean best practices within and across your region.
     

Qualifications:

  • Academic degree - Bachelor level or higher
  • Minimum 5 years of LEAN experience and suitable experience with project delivery
  • Experience with LEAN in different environments (i.e. Manufacturing, Service and Administration)
     

Competencies:

  • On the personal level: possess influence and persuasiveness as well as high interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate findings, results, and next steps in a digestible manner towards management and shopfloor. 
  • Experience with change management and project implementation.
  • Either certification or certified experience or education in continuous improvement disciplines
  • Previous experience with the implementation and facilitation of business improvement initiatives 
  • Ability to create impact and connect with all hierarchical levels in the organization
  • Able to plan and follow up on deliverables in different countries and cultures
  • Superior written/verbal presentation and communication skills in English, plus the main language in the country/region you work with i.e., Polish or German.

Additional information:
Preferred work location: Szczecin, Poland
It can be taken into consideration also locations such as Hamburg, Berlin, or Vienna.
Travels: 30-50% (traveling across Poland and the NCE region e.g. Romania, Bulgaria, or Austria)
