The HSE Onshore East department act as regional HSE partner for the Vestas Service Poland and Baltics organization. The focus areas are service operations, incidents, construction, commissioning, performance optimization and subcontractor management. As the HSE Professional within this team you will be responsible for maintaining high levels of H&S across Poland.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Ensure that Health, Safety & Environmental policies and procedures are communicated and followed within the team working with Onshore Service windfarms
  • Provide support to the Service management team, closely support site/facility supervisors during Toolbox Talks, internal and external HSE inspections and meetings and act as a safety role model, encourage and recognize others completing safe acts, and intervene when unsafe acts are being practiced
  • Assist with the reporting and investigation of hazardous observations, near misses and incidents and support the management team in handling these incident investigations and ensuring the necessary corrective/preventive actions are implemented. Your tasks will include the following:
  • Collect, validate, report, and respond to HSE data and ensure legal compliance to corporate and country HSE legislation. Provide support & advice to local management on HSE matters.
  • Review and revise documents in support of the HSE Management System and ensure close collaboration with our customers and other stakeholders on HSE matters
  • Ensure that Emergency Response Plans are established and maintained across the portfolio, together with ensuring that emergency drills are performed according to our management system
  • Continuously review the company Safe Systems of Work to deliver continuous improvement and facilitate the safety culture at site (local initiatives)

 

Qualifications 

  • We are looking for someone who either has an HSE profile and are interested in joining the onshore wind industry, or you have experience from the onshore wind industry and are interested in HSE
  • Hold bachelor's degree in Health and Safety and is proficient in local HSE requirements – mandatory
  • High proficiency in Polish and English – mandatory and Russian is welcomed
  • Have at least 3 years of experience from a similar HSE role within wind power / energy in onshore environment and experience with HSE policies and processes
  • Have knowledge of risk assessment, COSHH, crane works, fire protection and the implementation of appropriate control processes
  • Good IT skills, especially Microsoft Office applications, and the ability to quickly understand new systems
  • Driving license - Kat B

  • Good communication skills are required. Ability to organize and prioritize tasks, to work freely, adapt to new and sometimes complex situations
  • Solid interpersonal, computer, presentation, and collaboration skills. Flexibility to travel to sites across Poland is required
  • Able to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Are enthusiastic and can work with limited supervision
  • Able to coach teams to create an improved safety culture rather than just impose safety rules
  • Good commitment to quality, good time management and reporting skills
  • Be physically fit, to be able to climb wind turbines, conduct working practice reviews and deliver Emergency Response Safety training

Additional information
Primary Location – Within Poland. This position travels at least 50% to onshore sites around Northeast Poland
