This position is part of the Supplier Quality & Development in Vestas MED region, which coordinates SQ&D activities and ensures the highest focus on quality, safety, and the environment when developing and implementing the different category strategies while not compromising on agreed processes and the lowest total cost of ownership. The key task is the strategic and operational development of key suppliers in South Europe, Turkey, Middle East & Africa region by performing site audits, supplier assessments, and coordinating QSE improvement projects to enforce high supplier performance, zero incidents, and reduce the number of non-conformities. The SQ&D Department is part of a matrix organization covering global and regional demands collaborating with multiple internal functions i.e. procurement, engineering, manufacturing facilities, service & project management.
Responsibilities
- Deploy Vestas Quality, Safety, and Environment Strategy towards external suppliers under hydraulic, mechanical & weldments commodity
- Secure the APQP and PPAP process including quality assurance safe launch to secure product and process robustness on time
- Promote the quality agenda ensuring that quality becomes an integral part of business decisions
- Coordinate the performance of suppliers on the framework of safety and quality and key indicators on PPM, NCR reduction, CoPQ, TRIR, S&S maturity level
- Identify the systemic issues & conduct a supplier development plan using a quality toolbox ensuring that suppliers have the capability and capacity to meet current and future business requirements
- Promote a continuous improvement mindset and framework to improve supplier maturity
Qualifications
- Master’s or bachelor's degree in mechanical, process, metallurgical, or industrial engineering
- Relevant experience within mechanical, hydraulics and-or weldments commodities
- Experience with applying quality assurance & problem-solving tools i.e. FMEA, MSA, 8D, etc.
- Education or previous experience with Project Management
- Previous experience in a similar environment of an international matrix organization
- Certified auditor/lead auditor ISO or other standards is an added value
- Six Sigma Green Belt or other quality-safety certifications is an added value
Competencies
- Exposure to and or proficiency with APQP-PPAP, component, and process approval including problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills, oral and written, good meeting facilitator with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders within an international, innovative & cross-functional environment
- Motivated personality, independent learning & critical thinking skills - ability to identify and deliver actionable solutions to complex problems
- Fluency in English
