Head of Procurement APAC

General Purpose:
The Head of APAC Procurement will lead the regional procurement organization, driving procurement deliverables and procurement compliance in collaboration with internal and externals stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the Procurement function in APAC covering direct, construction, logistics & indirect, service spend and supplier quality
- This role is a leader of leaders, and you will be expected to coach, mentor and develop a staff of five and a department of 30+ to deliver current and future business needs.
- Identify and implement opportunities for suppliers and stakeholders in the region for both local and global supply, delivering more value to Vestas and includes managing and developing the regional supply base and supplier relations
- Lead regional initiatives to improve safety, quality, delivery and cost across the Vestas supply chain
- Manage the full spend, identify & implement cost out opportunities, align with internal stakeholders for implementation
- Manage project plans and follow up on business performance, conducting regular reviews with relevant teams and executive leadership
- Be a change agent and secure capability building within through sparring, coaching, engaging with key stakeholders and the implementation of professional purchasing processes.
- Solve problems by seeking out relevant information and gauge its importance when making decisions
- Ability to effectively participate and lead cross functional teams that may include internal, external, domestic and international stakeholders
- Drive compliance to procurement processes, secure compliant spend, drive maturity of procurement team & collaboration with internal stakeholders
- Key contributor to the overall strategic objectives of the matrixed organization, both within the regional leadership team in Vestas Americas and within the global leadership team of Vestas Procurement
- Ability to influence across organizational boundaries / with solid focus on working with & understanding different cultures
- Ability to establish and maintain good relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
Education, Training, and Skills Required:
-
- Bachelors’ degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or other related field or equivalent combination of relevant experience and education. Masters’ degree preferred.
- 15+ years of demonstrated leadership experience in strategic procurement
- Extensive experience from operating and leading in a regional/global matrix organization with the ability to develop and facilitate positive relationships among stakeholders whilst driving results
- Extensive Business and financial acumen and must have written and oral communication skills; able to express oneself clearly
- Demonstrated ability of challenging status quo, creating more value, by challenging the collaboration with our internal stakeholders, increasing impact from procurement & stakeholders to drive more value for the company.
- Experience from having driven transformation within strategic procurement, enabling higher profits while increasing quality and performance from supply base.
- Good, proven project and program management skills. Ability to develop, plan, and implement strategic short- and long-range goals.
