You will be part of our Technical Project Management team in Offshore Operations which comprises a team of highly motivated colleagues, supporting project execution of offshore wind turbines across the globe, with our focus being on the Asia Pacific region.

In addition to project execution, our team also supports the rest of Vestas' value chain with our knowledge of construction projects and consequently, many of our tasks also require cross-organisational collaboration.

 

Responsibilities

You will be working closely together with the Technical Project Manager to ensure that projects run smoothly and that technical aspects of the projects are delivered on time, to budget and to the required safety and quality standards. You and the Technical Project Manager will agree on which activities and sub-projects you will be involved in, and you will have the authority to act on their behalf when needed.

You will assist and support in terms of ensuring an understanding of the technical scope with the project team, coordinating technical deliverables and providing technical support through all stages of the projects. You will also assist in maintaining a close dialogue with the Project Execution team (i.e. Installation Manager, Commissioning Manager, Pre-installation Project Manager, etc.) to ensure alignment across the project.

Your tasks will include:

  • Support and assistance to the Technical Project Manager in technical aspects of implementing the project throughout the entire project life cycle;
  • Acting as technical interface between internal and external key stakeholders;
  • Proactively improving the project by avoiding, minimising or eliminating technical interface issues;
  • Identifying and managing technical risks and dependencies;
  • Coordinating technical deliverables before submitting these to the customer and ensuring the technical deliverables meet all customer and contractual requirements;
  • Reporting progress on technical issues to key stakeholders.

 

Qualifications

We expect that you have one to two years of experience within large-scale construction projects and has a positive, technical and practical approach. It is important that you are both technically skilled and have good organisational skills enabling you to work in multi-disciplinary teams. Since you will be part of a diverse and fast-paced organisation, it is necessary that you are flexible and can keep the overview even in, at times, hectic situations.

  • Hold a relevant education (e.g. engineering background);
  • Have good product understanding and awareness;
  • Have good contractual understanding;
  • Have general HSE knowledge and quality awareness;
  • Have good communication and English skills;
  • Are a team worker who is also able to work alone.
  • Are flexible and highly motivated. 

 

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or Electro Technical Officer (ETO - STCW III/6) or Engineering Officer (STCW III/2 OR STCW III/3)
  • Minimum 5 years Engineering experience or other related field on offshore industry including a minimum 3 years of experience in power electrical system.
  • Proficiency in English (fluent - speaking and writing)
