Road Survey engineer / LATAM

The Transport Department operates regionally and has the full responsibility for the transportation of oversize, heavy-lift and general cargo. This includes budgeting, planning, execution and controlling. The responsibility is the full coordination of deliveries together with the factory, the construction sites, our global vessel team, the nominated transport companies and other relevant stakeholders.
The Transport Department ensures that Vestas' main components get on-time and on-budget to our sites. The continuous dialogue with both internal and external stakeholders in different countries will enable the right candidate to be part of a truly global company.

To support the project shipment and delivery execution, working with Vestas personnel (Transport, Sales, factories, construction, service and Tech R&D) and external vendors, to ensure that products and materials are handled and shipped in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner, and to assist in the development of methods and documentation to do so.

  • Act as Vestas safety ambassador in the field to ensure safe work methods are adhered to
  • Support the LATAM transport with regular travel to ports, and project sites as needed to evaluate and monitor the proper handling of Vestas components, in all Latin America
  • Evaluate problems and implement solutions for all modes of transportation, supporting in technical feasibility studies, new products, new markets, new ports and new partners
  • Review and develop potential ports, transport companies and delivery routes to give feedback on suitability for transport of Vestas components, to include evaluation of potential vendors associated with this work
  • Become knowledgeable and expert in Vestas components, manuals and technical documentation in order to support the transport organization and make sure that all components can be transport in all countries of LATAM
  • Conduct Training activities related to a safety way of handling and storage Vestas components


  • Associates degree in Engineering and experience related with project cargo or heavy lift or oversize. Knowledge of lifting methods, lashing, storage and rigging equipment
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in MS Office and excellent Portuguese and English (oral and written). Spanish is a plus
  • Knowledge of project-based business
  • Experience with loading and unloading activities at ports and project sites
  • Ability to self-manage as well as coordinate efforts of cross-functional teams
  • Knowledge of domestic Transport legislation
