Global Supply Chain & Transport > LATAM Transport & Customs

 

The LATAM Transport department is looking for Transport Professional to ensure components are delivered ensuring Safe, timely and cost-effective as planned and in compliance with Customs and TAX regulations where Vestas operates, overseeing and managing materials and equipment within LATAM with main focus in Brazil .

The general purpose is to oversee and manage customs and general cargo procedures of wind turbines and their components within wind sites and factories in Brazil and other countries in LATAM.

 

 Responsibilities

• Taking SAFETY and QUALITY as the forerunner of delivering the expected result.

• Ensure that all LSP are instructed and following safety procedures in all operations

• Coordinate with all involved stakeholders as also different Brokers, Freight Forwarders and Transport companies to ensure Latam shipments are properly on track and reported, following customs and tax compliance

• Cross functional collaboration with proactively approach with stakeholders as Supply Chain, Service, Construction, Factories, Procurement, to attend and ensure safety, customs, tax, finance, account and systems compliance process

• Plan and coordinate reverse logistic of transport equipment returning to the factories and sites

• Prepare reports, schedules and analysis that may be required by the Regional/Global Transport teams

• Close cooperation in the transport team improving the operation in the region and meet the KPIs from transport department

• Investigate and support problem-solving of delivery and transport quality issues, monitor and report transport risks

• Monitoring, tracking and continuously improve transport performance.

• Assist with the Transport Budget preparation & control process, ensuring high integrity in our numbers by having accurate figures in Inbound reports and a high-quality budget on well-documented assumptions

• Control of transport forecast/spend reporting risks & opportunities

• Work in order to Optimize and Reduce overall logistics and customs costs

• Audit invoices / control payments of nominated service providers

• Support team to recover NCR/Claim costs disputes

 

 

When supporting implementation in the area, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

 

• Anchor the implementations in the area as - but not limited to: new process, systems, logistic provider, products, business case, investigating and support problem-solving, monitor and report risks & opportunities

• Applying methodical approach to issue definition and resolution. Resolving a wide range of specific issues effectively seeking needed collaboration

• Having experience with a full understanding in Transport & Customs area demonstrating effective application of knowledge in the organization, providing detailed and specific advice, clearly explaining facts, practices, policies to others within the organization or to external parties

• Prepare reports for management and ensure stakeholders are informed on a continuous basis on how they are performing and trending, and represent the Transport & Customs Department in front of regional and global stakeholders

• Facilitate events to promote improvements, process and implementation program updates, performing periodically maturity assessment in Transport & Customs area and processes

• Have experience in flow mapping to identify processes, describe process activities, develop operational procedures (work instructions).

Leading demonstration and acceptance of pre-checked systems for hand over to operations

• Facilitate and share best practices across different region teams

 

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Logístic, Business or International Studies/Foreing Trade preferred.

• 3-5 years of experience in a similar position focused on Logistic/Transport in the region

• Comprehensive knowledge of logistics operations and practices, in-depth knowledge and hands-on  Transport & Customs set-up mainly in Brazil

• Solid stakeholder management skills

• Comfortable and proficient in delivering workshops and similar activities

• Significant financial experience in transport cost controlling and execution, cost analysis, and business performance management

• Solid systems skills including MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), favorably including hands-on experience in Power BI and SAP BI.

• Attention to detail and build smart well-organized spreadsheets

• Advance English language skills, written and spoken. Spanish is a plus.

• Knowledge of SAP
