This position is part of the Supplier Quality & Development in Latin America, within Vestas Quality organisation. Our main focus is developing QHSE strategies and securing sourcing decisions are made in respect to achieve the lowest total cost of ownership without compromising safety and quality.

The SQ&D Department is part of a matrix organization covering global and regional demands collaborating with multiple internal functions i.e. procurement, engineering, manufacturing facilities, service & project management

 

 Responsibilities

 

- Deploy the Vestas Quality, Safety and Environment Strategy towards external suppliers under;

- Lead the supplier approval process by assessing supplier's quality management system, manufacturing/process capabilities and health, safety, and environmental risks.

- Coordination and execute supplier quality assurance plans in new product qualification projects to ensure flawless launches at our manufacturing sites.

- Coordination of component changes to ensure appropriate verification and part approval process.

- Drive supplier improvement projects to enhance QSE maturity and performance.

- Facilitate root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions of supplier quality issues

 

 

Qualifications

 

- Master or bachelor's degree in engineering or other relevant industry/process area

- 3+ years hands-on experience on similar position with supplier management, safety & quality focus

- Relevant experience with electrical commodities

- Proven track record in applying quality assurance & problem-solving tools i.e. FMEA, MSA, 8D, etc.

- Education and/or proven track record in Project Management

- Previous experience in a similar environment of an international matrix organization

- Certified auditor/lead auditor ISO, VDA or other quality-safety standards will be an advantage

Relevant commodity acumen with certifications

 

- Strong project management skills with the ability to drive complex development projects across the organization

- Competency in data analytics and strong problem-solving skills

- Good communication skills, oral and written, strong meeting facilitator with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders within an international, dynamic & cross-functional environment

- Self-driven personality, independent learning & critical thinking skills - ability to identify and deliver actionable solutions to complex problems

- Fluent in English language is mandatory, Spanish is very desirable
