The Latin America (LATAM) Finance Business Performance Management (BPM) team are the dedicated finance business partners to our LATAM Regional Sales, Construction, Service and Manufacturing operations. We are an internationally diverse team, physically located in multiple countries across the region. Together with our primary operational stakeholders, we focus on Performance Management, Business Finance, Business Controlling and Finance Business Partnering.

 

The Construction Finance team specifically partners with LATAM Construction Operations. As the Manager of the LAT Brazil Construction Finance team, you will be located at LAT HQ, São Paulo, BR, reporting to the LAT BPM Finance Construction Head, also located in São Paulo, BR. Your primary operational stakeholders will also be located in São Paulo, BR.

 

You and your current team of two project controllers will be the financial experts and problem solvers for the LAT Brazil Construction operations (sub-region of LATAM). You will coordinate the relevant controlling and finance processes related to the Construction Contracts, while also assisting in preparation of daily and monthly reports, providing analysis and insights. You will be responsible for providing the leadership and technical expertise to support the accomplishment of this, while sometimes needing to step in and directly assist in completion of the monthly reports.

Furthermore, as Brazil is the dominant market of LATAM, this position will also entail indirect dotted line management over for consistency with controllers in other Latin American countries (Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Colombia, Caribbean), aiding in the overall regional management alongside the LAT BPM Finance Construction Head.

 

 

Responsibilities

 

As the Manager of the LAT Brazil Construction Finance team, you will be the primary financial expert and problem solver for the Construction LATAM operation, as well as developing your financial team to provide similar services throughout the Construction organization of the LATAM region. You will support the continuous improvement on analysis of relevant information for construction operations to make informed decisions, both in current operations as well as multi-year strategic planning. You and your team will work closely with the Reporting & Compliance Finance to ensure accounting is correctly completed, but your specific focus is on conducting value-add activities to operations, assisting to drive and deliver efficiencies.

 

Coordinate monthly closing activities for LAT Construction Operations, including consolidation and analysis of:

 

  • the current month P&L results versus budget & forecast,
  • the revised quarterly & FY forecast versus budget & forecast,
  • the risks & opportunities to be targeted to safeguard performance

 

Provide financial reports and analysis to both regional and global management of LAT Construction performance.

 

  • Budgeting
  • Review financial profitability
  • Monitoring and forecasting of Construction cash inflows
  • Proactively engage and collaborate with relevant colleagues and business stakeholders, in order to solve operational issues and problems with speed and quality
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects and management reports as required

 

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelors' degree in Finance or Accounting. MBA preferred.
  • Relevant experience with: Finance business partnering (project cost controlling & execution, cost analysis, business performance management)
  • Experience with systems including MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint) required and SAP, SAP BI, SAP BPC experience is beneficial
  • Minimum 8 years of financial analysis experience
  • Experience in renewable energy, wind energy preferred
  • Strong proficiencies in both spoken and written English, the official language of Vestas, is required. Portuguese, Spanish, Danish and German proficiencies are always a Significant Plus.
  • Flexibility and motivation, some travel may be required
  • Ability to work separately and with minimal supervision
