As a Site  Electrical Engineer, you will  ensure the electrical aspects of its construction projects are delivered according to contract requirements and best practices

Responsibilities :

  •  Design management of electrical balance of plant design from sub-contractors.
  •  Review of primary and secondary electrical design drawings and documentation against contractual obligations, industry standards, safety compliance, and best practice
  •  Reviewing component selections
  •  Coordinate design interfaces with Project Civil Engineer and other discipline leads
  •  Coordinate Safety in Design Reviews. 
  •  Collate required information from sub-contractors for payment milestones and advise the site and project managers about the completion status.
  •  Perform QA inspections on electrical scopes of work (incl. factory acceptance tests)
  •  Review Inspection and test plans (ITPs)/ test results or report ITRs for electrical scopes of work
  •  Reporting on the progress of inspections/tests and QA/QC submissions
  •  Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure technical queries, variations, and payment claims are assessed promptly.
  •  Support commissioning activities.
  •  Liaise with and provide feedback to Melbourne-based personnel. (Functional reporting)
  •  Attending site and progress meetings to assist with expert Knowledge in these areas.
  •  Monitor BOP progress and contribute to deriving solutions or mitigation measures should delays be incurred.
  •  Maintain a good working relationship with clients and onsite contractors.
  •  Ensure all work carried out follows Vestas Quality and Site Safety requirements.
  •  Support the Engineering changes (Engineering change management).
  •  Report any deviations in the system. (NCR)


Qualification :

  •   Degree in Electrical Engineering
  •   Ability to gain CPEng – Chartered Professional Engineer as granted by Engineers Australia


Competencies:

  •  Management of subcontractors and designers in a site-based construction environment
  •  Review of electrical design in a construction environment. Previous experience working on construction sites.
  •  Experience with Primary substation design is highly valued.
  •  Experience with secondary and LV design advantageous.
  •  Experience in Negotiation with major stakeholders, both clients /contractors
  •  Commercial and Risk Awareness
  •  Ability to operate within a high-pressure environment.
  •  Experience in the construction of Wind farms highly valued
  •  Commissioning experience is highly valued
  •  Advanced use of MS Office
  •  Experience with using document control systems is highly valued. (E.g. Team binder)
  •  Strong verbal and written communication
  •  Relationship building, both internal and external
  •  Proactive view and practical approach toward role.
