Converter Control HW & FW sub-module is a global and diverse team with people from different locations and develops, verifies and maintains all software functionalities of converters for all onshore and offshore Vestas turbines. We provide the software for the first in class converter solutions of Vestas with quality meeting system and grid requirements.

 

Responsibilities

  • Working cross project and cross platform as Release Manager & QA development engineer for Converter Control FW & HW and Converter Control Application sub-modules
  • Responsible for Converter Control automated build plan portfolio, their stability, performance and future development. This includes Jenkins build plans testing SW package on windows as control Software-In-Loop (SIL) and on real HW as part of a control Hardware-In-Loop (cHIL) test setups
  • Be the first line of contact towards Release Management team and act as a representative for converter control in relation to the continuous integration process and "Vestas SW factory"
  • Daily monitoring and tracking of the converter build plan's QA results on the main branches (Develop; Master) and act as case handler on issues detected
  • Perform the 1st line of analysis of the issue and notify the responsible developer if bug-fixing or more details analysis is needed
  • Develop and maintain GUI monitoring and QA result reports on all converter build plans
  • Responsible for adapting and maintaining "Vestas SW factory" tool chain and build system for Converter Control
  • Support Converter Control developers with issues on Converter Builds on build system
  • You will be engaged in increasing the test coverage level, new QA test features, test tools, QA automation and other QA related initiatives. Furthermore, you will also be working with auto generated QA documentation and new QA development
  • You will interact with the Tools Team to ensure, that the Continues Integration process is running in tandem and seamless integrated with Converter Control setups

 

Qualifications

  • Master's or bachelor's degree. e.g in Software, Computer science or Electrical Engineering or others
  • Demonstrated hands on software development experience
  • Experience within DevOps methodologies and way of working is an valuable asset
  • Professional in Jenkins build environment and tool chain
  • Professional in GIT for source code change management system
  • Professional in some of the following scripting languages Python, Matlab or Octave.
  • Professional in some of the following programming languages (.Net, Visual C#, C and C++)
  • Demonstrate hands-on experience of being able to perform software design, development and debugging with limited supervision

 

Competencies

  • SW architectural understanding on system level
  • Highly independent and self-initiated to learn and ability to quickly understand system design and do code inspections
  • Skilled in problem solving, analysis and software debugging
  • Experience in defining functional specification, conduct system validation and prepare technical documentations
  • Good communication skills both to internal team and to external stakeholders
  • Ability and experience in breaking down the tasks and estimating needed effort
  • Process oriented and have a structured way to work - being familiar with agile or Scrum process is an added value
  • Possess English skills at a high level
  • Highly collaborative and a good networker who can build, develop and maintain relationships in a culturally diverse and global environment
