Vestas/Service Sales/Commercial Project Mgmt/Fleet Optimization Specialist

Position is responsible for the overall management, project execution/performance, and continuous development of the Fleet Optimization Program, which is a key area of Technical Services for the Vestas Americas Service business.  This position will provide leadership, technical oversight, facilitate forecasting, and project management for all Fleet Optimization projects over multiple sites within the US and Canada. Individual interacts regularly with external customers and internal stakeholder functions to drive execution excellence. Continually improves the program to enhance customer satisfaction, operational excellence, and overall business growth/profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Service Sales as a commercial expert in supporting existing and new customers to expand Fleet Optimization business potential. Work directly with Sales to develop an overall strategy for building out Fleet Optimization capabilities and offerings. Drive profitability of the Fleet Optimization business
  • Provide regular forecasting, budget, and other status reports to leadership and other key members of management
  • Develop overall pricing strategy to maximize revenue and margin potential
  • Oversee the planning and bidding of all Fleet Optimization projects
  • Active participant in Fleet Optimization sales negotiation to ensure successful sales closing
  • Build and maintain active working partnership with Chennai, India-based Wind & Site Engineering Team to ensure correct prioritization and timely delivery of product and site analysis
  • Serve as sales business unit interface to global product team and local technical support team to ensure products are prepared for sales and implementation
  • Communicate product development needs and local requirements to global product team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace, or Business, MBA a plus
  • 3 - 5 years' experience as project manager, project lead, or other selling experience, preferably in a related service, industrial or manufacturing setting
  • Experience in the wind industry or complex capital equipment sales environment
  • Working knowledge of projects developed for electrical generation. Background in field operations is a plus
  • Demonstrated success in understanding commercial terms, negotiation strategy, balancing business profitability, and customer needs
  • Demonstrated continuous improvement and quality methodology skills. Effective issue resolution and structured problem solving methodology. Recommends and drives improvement in existing products / services to better meet customer needs
  • Strong PC computer skills (MS Office) required, ERP knowledge highly preferred (SAP)
  • Valid driver’s license, ability to obtain passport and travel as needed to meet business objectives

  • Strong developed organizational and influence skills with demonstrated ability to project manage deals leveraging the matrix of functional support of Vestas
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to make business case comparisons for internal and external presentations
  • Ability to perform under high pressure and dynamic work environment managing multiple deliverables
  • Communication - Strong verbal and written communication skills required (level of communication within company – with team, stakeholders, all levels, etc.)
