Commercial Real Estate Sr. Manager

Experience in the energy sector, specifically wind energy, is a must have for this role. 

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, control and direct real estate activities such as site location and acquisition, right-of-way negotiation, building and land acquisition and disposition, or other Real Estate activities needed to support the wind site development
  • Develop Steelhead best practices for land acquisition efforts, management and controls
  • Oversee real estate documentation for accuracy of initial and final drafts and determine affiliate support agreements and ancillary documents necessary
  • Review, support and negotiate title policy process with title insurance providers
  • Research private and public records to determine ownership, mineral leases, etc.
  • Evaluates and interprets legal documents
  • Completes budgets and monthly forecasting, financial reports, ad hoc reports, and modeling
  • Conducts analysis on issues impacting development/operations and creatively identifies opportunities for improvement
  • Works with teams throughout the company in a coordinator capacity
  • Works closely with subject matter experts to identify and organize material project documentation
  • Drafts and edits legal documents based on edits and input from corporate attorneys
  • Performs other job-related tasks as assigned
  • Participates in special projects or activities related to the legal discipline being supported

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 6 years' experience in acquisition of land agreements for wind projects. Additional solar or storage experience optimal.
  • Has in-depth know how in developing, negotiating, and implementing complex real estate agreements.
  • Senior level working knowledge of title proforma, insurance and title curative
  • Senior level contract negotiation capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and interface effectively with cross-functional employee groups and external stakeholders
  • Comfortable multi-tasking and prioritizing diverse demands in a ever-growing work environment
  • Motivated and creative problem-solver who is excited to assess, solve, communicate and implement strategic solutions to complex, multifaceted situations
  • Skilled negotiating and problem-solving skills with emphasis on attention to detail.
  • Has a significant network of relationships among key stakeholders in the market / industry.
  • Has a high attention to detail, effective communication and interpersonal skills, and work well in a time-sensitive setting.
  • Can be an effective spokesperson and public representative for Vestas Americas.
  • Willing to travel regularly within US and Canada (expected 20-50%)

Competencies:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and SAP)
  • Ability to complete weekly reports
  • Problem solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively with others
  • Ability to interact frequently with others in a professional, courteous manner
  • Able to effectively supervise a cross-functional team
  • Ability to travel to job sites as needed
