The Project Manager or Real Estate is responsible for supporting Steelhead America's land acquisition efforts for its growing Renewable Energy portfolio. Responsibilities include supporting a project developer in real estate-related matters, land acquisition, support during project financing, and providing input on best practices, process improvement, and standardization.

 

Responsibilities:

• Plan and support real estate activities such as site location and acquisition, right-of-way negotiation, building, and land acquisition, or other Real Estate activities needed to support the project site development

• Research private and public records to determine ownership, mineral leases, etc.

• Evaluates and interprets legal documents

• Completes budgets and monthly forecasting, financial analysis, ad hoc reports

• Conducts analysis on real estate or local opportunities impacting development/operations and effectively identify opportunities for improvement

• Represent Steelhead to project stakeholders in a professional manner. Discuss company mission, project details, and various types of surface lease agreements with prospective participants

• Works with teams throughout the company in a coordinator capacity

• Works closely with subject matter experts to identify and organize material project documentation

• Drafts legal documents with accuracy from a template

• Performs other job-related tasks as assigned

• Participates in special projects or activities related to the legal discipline being supported

 

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.

• A minimum of 2-3 years experience in the acquisition of land agreements for energy projects. Renewable experience optimal.

• Has in-depth know-how in developing, negotiating, and implementing complex real estate agreements.

• Working knowledge of the chain of title, surface lease agreements, and title curative documents

• Demonstrated ability to build relationships and interface effectively with cross-functional employee groups and external stakeholders

 

Competencies:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SAP), and mapping software (Google Earth, ArcGIS online, etc.)

• Ability to complete weekly reports

• Problem-solving skills

• Ability to work effectively with others

• Ability to interact frequently with others in a professional, courteous manner

• Able to effectively supervise a cross-functional team

• Ability to travel to job sites 75%

• Comfortable multi-tasking and prioritizing complex demands in an ever-growing work environment

• Motivated and creative problem-solver who is excited to assess, solve, communicate and implement strategic solutions to complex, multifaceted opportunities.

• Skilled negotiating and problem-solving skills with emphasis on attention to detail.

• Has high attention to detail, effective communication, and interpersonal skills, and work well in a time-sensitive situation.

• Can be an effective spokesperson and public representative for Vestas Americas.

• Willing to travel regularly within US and Canada (expected up to 75%)
