The position can be either remote or hybrid if local.

 

The Project Controls Specialist/Engineer is a key member of the Vestas Construction department, providing project planning/scheduling and project technical configuration support from the Portland office necessary to enable Project Management Stakeholders to effectively coordinate and follow up on the construction of wind power plants.

 

Responsibilities

-  Provide planning, resource loading, progress reporting, updated schedule and cost information and analysis of project trends in schedule, thus enabling management to make informed decisions

-  Provide Project Management team with analysis and recommendations to mitigate risks to the project schedule

-  Support management with recommendations on methods and core processes.

-  Create project execution schedules (design, procurement, delivery, construction) utilizing Primavera P6 scheduling software

-  Update project reporting weekly to inform stakeholders on project status.

-  Support Sales Department with pre-contract proposal schedules and ensure Primavera project schedule milestone dates are synchronized with SAP ERP system.

-  Support Project Management in reviewing project configurations and following up on site-specific configuration changes as directed by Technical Bid Managers.

-  Support site construction activities with updated construction schedules and analysis; integrate project subcontractor schedules into Primavera schedule.

-  Support each project's construction team with setting up and handling proprietary software application used by on-site personnel to record site progress.

-  Influence teams in data collection, management, and tasks to improve processes.

-  Develop, implement, and maintain external and internal cost reports, cash flows and forecasts.

-  Responsible for schedule management, earned value management and cost management

-  Integrate production and transportation plans into project schedules and identify risks.

-  Submit requests to Supply Chain planning to modify production plans from manufacturing warehouses to support contractual delivery requirements

-  Perform other tasks including traveling as assigned

 


Qualifications Required

-  Associate or Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Engineering or related field

-  3 to 7 years of experience in Planning and Costs in an industrial company.

-  EPC experience preferred

-  Ecosys and Prism G2 experience preferred

-  Experience using Primavera scheduling software or equivalent program preferred

-  Knowledge of SAP desired

-  Experience in an engineering, construction, or operations environment desired.

-  Availability to travel locally up to 25%.

 

Competencies

-  Solid verbal and written communication skills

-  Advanced PC computer skills in MS Office (Word, Excel)

-  Ability to work with limited supervision.

-  Solid time management and organizational skills needed to ensure department goals and deliverables are met

-  Functions effectively in a time-sensitive setting in environments of rapid change and conflicting demands and is capable of multi-tasking

-  Demonstrated ability and experience in planning, logistics, and scheduling

-  Microsoft SharePoint or similar web application platform experience desired
