Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the overall Project Controls department within the Construction & Operations function for Vestas Americas (construction planning and cost management across the entire project portfolio)
  • Complete ownership of monitoring and effectively overseeing the delivery, management, and execution of project portfolios within the tolerances and boundaries of time, cost, quality, scope, risk, and benefits.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to Portfolio Project Controls Managers, Planners, and Cost Controllers to effectively control project portfolio P&L and promoting continuous improvement (process and methodologies)
  • As a Subject Matter Expert on Project Controls, responsible for continuously improving the function’s operating model through instilling industry leading best practices from a schedule and cost risk perspective
  • Play a critical role in driving portfolio optimization in terms of financial forecasting accuracy-related construction cash-flow, revenue, profit margins, contingency management, and EBIT
  • Be a key member of an integrated team to optimize Vestas Supply Chain capacity output at the best possible cost
  • Create and maintain project planning portfolio overview (scope, resources, timelines, risks, budget)
  • As a business partner and trusted adviser to Portfolio Directors, responsible for proactively identifying, prioritizing, escalating, and mitigating construction portfolio risks to further enhance overall P&L performance
  • Work in close collaboration with the PMO team to deliver reports and trend analysis focused on portfolio wide schedule and financial performance to various stakeholders (including executive leadership)
  • Play a key role as a liaison between Construction and SCM/Transportation teams in order effectively monitor risks stemming from production, delivery, and inventory of components
  • Ensure and maintain a 12 months resource and budget forecasts within the portfolio
  • Create and maintain the high-level project and ensure alignment with SBU's, platform and other stakeholders
  • Ensure a unified project controls and planning framework/methodology for all projects in the portfolio, further improving overall project execution standards

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors' degree in Engineering, Project Management, or Business Administration or other related field or equivalent combination of relevant experience and education. Masters' degree preferred.
  • More than 12 years of overall experience focused on Project Controls / Planning, with 6 - 8 years of progressive leadership experience in a global organization (especially within construction or energy industry)
  • Proven analytical skills with proven experience in managing multi-billion dollar P&L from a cost and schedule management perspective
  • Good, proven project and program management skills. Ability to develop, plan, and implement strategic short- and long-range goals
  • Effective team leadership skills with ability to facilitate a cooperative work environment, motivate, and coach
  • Extensive employee development, coaching, and mentoring skills with the focus on leadership development.
  • Solid communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of business units in a global organization (matrix team environment experience)
  • Proven proficiency in analysis and problem solving
  • Ability to develop and facilitate positive relationships among internal leadership and external providers.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a significant, ever-growing and results-oriented environment; handle constant change with ease and flexibility. Highly organized and able to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
