Market Intelligence Director 
US, Portland | Senior Management | Full-Time | ID: 20292
 

The Director, Market Intelligence will guide a small, existing team of Specialists and Analysts within the Vestas North America Region. The Market Intelligence & Strategy team combines a enthusiasm for clean energy along with a deep understanding of markets, policy, economics and energy value chains in order to provide analysis, tools & project management to all functions of the North American business unit. This includes Regional Strategy, Turbine & Service Sales, Business Development, Operations, Supply Chain, Product Management and Public Affairs. It is a cross-functional, highly collaborative team with a solid visibility and healthy variety in its day-to-day work.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a go-to individual for market knowledge and analysis needs in the North American region and Global Intelligence unit for internal and external stakeholders
  • Lead forecasting, analysis, regional strategy support and annual customer loyalty survey
  • Serve as critical input to sales strategy, product strategy, turbine & service value engineering, budget process and public affairs
  • Support business development efforts through pitch deck creation, research, data analysis and customer engagements
  • Quantify impact of external market factors such as economic incentives, supply chain price volatility, environmental restrictions, and federal/state/local governmental rules as it may impact company and project financials
  • Collaborate with Vestas Development to leverage data streams into GIS-based market intelligence platform

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors' degree in marketing, engineering, economics, or finance,
  • 5+ years of professional experience with significant experience in energy - particularly wind energy
  • People leader experience
  • Comfort engaging with executive-level stakeholders internally and externally
  • Professional communication skills, oral and written, and interpersonal interaction
  • Travel required as an essential element of job (<20%) to customer sites and conferences
