Manager, Construction Management Resources

Sales / SBU AME / Construction

The Construction Operations department is part of the greater Construction department supporting Turbine supply and installation projects throughout AME. The Construction Operations department is responsible for staffing management across the portfolio of projects.

 

Responsibilities

  • Supervise up to 40 remote Construction Managers and Assistant Managers

  • Serve as a liaison between Unit Sr Construction Manager, the Operations Manager, and the rest of the leadership team in Construction

  • Supervise the Recruitment of Construction Managers and Assistant Managers

  • Onboard and train new team members

  • Perform evaluations, determine training opportunities, and implement improvement plans

  • Interact with process improvement team, as well as Technical team for support on CM evaluations

  • Assist with budget development, and cost tracking for direct reports

  • Travel 40-50%

  • Responsible for coordination and scheduling of CM and ACM assignments

  • Responsible for the employment matters within their area resource technician team including hiring, development, employee relations, performance management, performance appraisals, etc.

  • Partner with the Project Management team to develop cohesive assignments and development plans

  • Review and approve Construction Management overhead Budget (travel and personal expenses)

 

Qualifications

  • Associates degree or equivalent

  • More than 8 years’ experience as project manager, project lead, or other management experience, especially in the industrial or construction industry

  • Technical background or equivalent education

  • Construction management degree or equivalent

  • Valid driver’s license, passport, and ability to travel as needed to meet business goals

  • Experience with and ability to coordinate and supervise projects

  • Ability to speak and understand technical language

  • Professional English communications skills (verbal, focused listening, written, meeting management, presentation)

  • Business financial knowledge is a preference

  • Professional PC skills (MS Office) required, SAP knowledge is a preference; MS Office – Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project management programs.

  • Highly motivated, accountable and ownership; function effectively in a time-sensitive situation in environments of rapid change and conflicting demands; enjoys multi-tasking

 

Competencies

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Valid driver’s license, passport, and ability to travel as needed to meet business goals

  • Ability to supervise a team remotely

  • Ability to establish targets and translate them into actionable plans

  • Collaborate with team to resolve issues day today

Additional Information

The position is a travel position on Wind Turbine Construction sites with 60 - 70% travel.
