Finance/Vestas Legal & Compliance - AME

The Contract Specialist supports the legal team of Vestas, the leading global provider of wind power plant solutions, in the United States and Canada. This position assists with commercial transactions and the corporate compliance of Vestas’ sales, manufacturing, and service operations by coordinating and actively participating in the negotiation, review, approval, closing, and execution of document-intensive, complex, and high value contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Work with company lawyers, clients, and external counsel when necessary on the contracting process, which includes negotiating agreements, managing a large number of associated documents (related agreements and contract exhibits), coordinating review and approval, and facilitating closings.
  • Prepare and maintain documents necessary for compliance with corporate legal requirements in the United States and Canada.
  • Work closely and effectively with company lawyers and legal staff, management, employees of all levels and cultures, as well as customers and external counsel. 
  • Improve, develop, and implement systems, processes, guidelines, and forms to increase the efficiency of the delivery of legal services.
  • Manage company licenses and registrations. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree; J.D. preferred.
  • At least three years of experience working with contracts, (may be fewer if employee has J.D.).
  • Working knowledge of contract law.   
  • Client service and team orientation.
  • Acute attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.  
  • Critical thinking, good judgment, and comfort with ambiguity. Ability to manage large and often fast-moving projects. 
  • Excellent skills with Microsoft Office and other legal and contracting software programs.
