Commercial Project Management Specialist

 

Responsibilities:

  • Project manage all aspects of negotiating supply, service, repower, and supply & installation contracts, including administrative and substantive responsibilities, from internal kick-off meeting through handover of an executed agreement to Construction and Service teams
  • Support internal and external Legal team in document preparation, including exhibits and amendments.
  • With input from internal stakeholders, develop Vestas’ position on all terms and conditions, ensuring that stakeholders’ concerns are represented appropriately in the negotiation and the final contract; delegate policy making and accountability as appropriate in the organization.
  • Direct negotiation process: liaise with customer representative, set the timeline, arrange and supervise meetings, and coordinate internal agreement on negotiating tactics.
  • On selected items, negotiate directly with customer team to produce maximum value and acceptable risk for both parties.
  • Coordinate and oversee internal review, approval and closing processes, and ensure that final agreements embody acceptable balance of risk and value for Vestas.
  • Represent the “voice of the customer” when interacting with internal Vestas departments and stakeholders to agree on solutions that achieve customer and Vestas goals.
  • Present commercial deals and discuss proposals to senior Vestas leadership.
  • Continuous improvement of commercial tools, including contracts, exhibits, internal reports and other tools and processes used by the business to manage risk and maximize value.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Engineering, technical, commercial or legal degree ideal.  Degrees in less relevant fields should be supplemented by appropriate professional experience.
  • Two years’ experience in contract management, commercial operations or commercial negotiation, including the management of complex commercial or other types of projects (i.e., discrete timelines, multiple stakeholders, changing conditions and expectations).
  • Two years’ experience in the energy industry.   Experience in similar heavy manufacturing environments may be acceptable substitute.  The requirement may overlap with item above.
  • Demonstrated ability to build project teams in a matrix environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet cost and schedule commitments.
  • Ability to work well in a performance culture and in a changing work environment.
  • Exemplary written and verbal communication and leadership skills; solid customer relations and problem-solving skills; demonstrated ability to negotiate to satisfactory conclusion in a high-pressure commercial environment.
  • Experience using and learning new IT systems and data platforms, including Microsoft Office and Vestas’ proprietary tools

Competencies:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and SAP)
  • Regular and reliable attendance
  • Effective written and oral communication skills; able to express oneself clearly and in technical and non-technical terms
  • Ability to establish and maintain good relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to work with people, to lead by influence and by motivating and empowering
