NA Services / Service Operations / Repair

The Regional Project Manager supervises a portfolio of existing and upcoming projects with a project team of Site/Project Managers to provide operational support for case activation and safe project execution within AME. This is comprised of people management, project management, loss mitigation, efficiency gain, and financial recovery. Examples include: encouraging a safe work environment, field execution, Loss Production Factor (LPF) reduction, and other requests.

 

Responsibilities

  • Hire, develop, mentor, and supervise a team of Site/Project Managers focused on supporting Service and Construction for safe and efficient execution of projects

  • Oversee and support project standards with stakeholders on cases through negotiations and contract creation, securing third-party vendors, and organizing terms and conditions with appropriate stakeholders

  • Ensure site-level safety practices and protocols are implemented on-site in alignment with organizational standards and lessons learned. Set and define safety requirements, enable management to support and direct safety culture on their sites

  • Internally support commercial negotiations in the pricing, capacity planning, and scheduling of major projects

  • Develop, implement, and manage requisite processes and procedures to manage the business including data input management (i.e. MyTime, MyTask, PR/PO, project management, T&M management, LD/Bonus management, Cost Out initiatives, etc.). Ability to fully interpret and navigate Adaptive or all financial reporting tools

  • Develop and implement requisite process improvement projects to improve team productivity

  • Implement and supervise all safety practices and protocols within Vestas’s organizational standards to ensure compliance and optimal safety results with a team that demonstrates safe behaviors

  • Ensure all communication regarding project meets safety and quality standards (avoids rework)

  • Ability to communicate and report out the financial impact of results of inventory and tooling throughout the area

  • Liaise with multiple support functions internally to ensure timely and quality project completion

  • Coordinate communications regarding project with local and global teams

  • Communicate with stakeholders from all levels of the organization in both technical and non-technical terms

  • Align, support and supervise the team members who are responsible to direct the project process and lean on their expertise to reach conclusions regarding the incident.

  • Focus on reducing Loss Production Factor (LPF)

  • Review and understand if processes are working, then make necessary adjustments to support continuous improvement across the organization

Qualifications

  • MBA, advanced degree, or equivalent experience required

  • 10 – 15 years of Project Management related experience, PMP is a preference or equivalent experience

  • (understanding construction)

  • 5 – 10 years experience supervising multiple substantial size projects in parallel ($50 – $100 million portfolio)

  • Experience in supervising and maximizing processes & procedures

  • Experience with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) is a preference

  • Technical background, hydraulic or rotating heavy equipment is a preference; knowledge of technical drawings and schematics. Ability to understand and utilize technical language

  • Knowledge and experience with effective safety programs, practices, and procedures and creating a professional safety culture remotely

  • Professional ability to work effectively with workgroups across the organization.

  • Proven ability to build customer relationships and effectively negotiate with customers and contractors to resolve disputes

  • Professional methodical, communication, and management skills with senior leadership, customer service focus in a concise and meaningful manner

  • Previous accountability for budgeting, P&L, and cost management

  • Valid driver's license, passport, and ability to travel (up to 25% if in PDX, up to 35% if outside PDX) as needed to meet business milestones

  • Effective written and oral communication skills; able to express oneself clearly and in technical and non-technical terms in English to senior management and various stakeholders

  • Solve problems methodically; search out relevant information and gauge its importance when making decisions

  • Ability to effectively supervise direct reports and coordinate a team

  • Ability to oversee a portfolio of projects
